The Jennah mini is account bound, the level up scrolls are account bound, the upcoming finisher is probably also going to be account bound – why not the cake gun? It shouldn’t matter if specific characters on my account weren’t made at the same time as my earliest, like the revenant. I just wanna shoot cake!

Yeah, I personally think birthday rewards should be account bound, including the cake gun.

At the moment, it’s rather inconvenient if the character that has the birthday gun is one you really don’t play anymore, while your new main now has to wait up to two years before he/she can access it.

It never made sense to begin with on why it was soul bound. They even developed a npc and a option to get a new one from the vendor if you delete yours, but just toggling it to be account bound was sorely overlooked.

Can’t you just get one for each toon?

They’re trying to make unique rewards for longevity of your characters.

I’m sorry but i just don’t agree with you all.
I think the character that is two years old should be the one who is rewarded.
I mean, imagine someone else get a birthday cake instead of you because they are more fun lol.
However, what Anet could do, is reward your actual account from when you first registered.
Now I know that is pretty much the same thing but to me it is different.
Just the way I look at it

So far the birthday gifts have been account bound except for this one item. Even the minipet the first year before the minipet wardrobe was account bound. You could give it to your brand new char if you wanted. If they had really wanted the rewards to be for that char only, they would have made the mini Jennahs soulbound to the birthday char.

You can … when that specific toon turns two years old. So an alt you made last month has a long wait.

I don’t mind them being soulbound, myself. I don’t use them except for silly fun but at least all my 2 year olds have one. If it was account bound it would be more like the Queen Jennah mini, an eye-roll at having yet another (that wouldn’t even stack), and would feel much less like a marker for the alt.

Yeah i suppose it’s down to inconsistency then.
It’s not a massive issue and I understand why it would be nice to be able to shoot cake on all characters.
Can you imagine an open world event with everyone holding a cake blaster, madness:)

Its an item that is all but useless to a veteran character. The buffs are very useful for alts. It makes no sense that I can only use it on my veteran characters.

Yah. Not a huge deal but I do use it for the karma gain when doing a series of events such as Teq, and now that function is even more important since they removed the karma boost from the enchanted boosters and the gem store so this boost Is no longer as easily gained.
