Guild Wars 2

I know that Guild Wars 2 is only 4 months old but… it’s already 1/3 of a year!

Well, anyway, for those who don’t know, Guild Wars had a tradition ; characters had birthdays gifts so every year of existence of your character, you had a box popping in your inventory with a random mini from the set of each year ; this was the main source of minis in the game.

Obviously, now, in Guild Wars 2, the main source is the Gem Store ; so, if developpers are reading us, why not giving them ideas for those gifts, if they decide to keep the tradition?

I had personally an idea that sounds pretty good in my head ; let’s see if it sounds as good here… I was thinking about putting in each birthday gift all the minis of the events of the year.

For example, the first gift would contain the Mini Karka, Reef Drake, etc… It would solve many problems ; the Mini Karka price would avoid getting over 9000K gold, and it would be a good occasion to sell them again ; you could put the gifts permanently in the Gem Store so that the people who are not satisfied with what they got inside their free gift can get another. And the new player who haven’t an old character can buy some too.

But it’s only my idea ; so, guys, what would you like to see inside a birthday gift?

Yes I loved to get minis every year in GW1, hope the tradition stays here too.

I LOVE the idea of your GW1 character as a mini pet though. That would be so awesome as a gift!! Probably logistically impossible though, but would be cool

You will only be able to acquire birthday mini-pets after paying 1600 gems in the store to unlock the “Gift Of Birthdays”. At that point the item you recieve is soulbound and you would be required to repurchase the gift for any other characters you wish to unlock the birthday gift.

P.S. – The birthday gifts will also be account bound.

I would like to see a random selection from a small assortment of mini’s for a birthday present (a la GW1). I have 8 characters and it is a bit annoying that I will end up with 8 Queen Jenna miniatures for my first birthday presents

I miss random minis. I know so many people who didn’t delete or remake characters because of Birthday Gifts only to find out we get 10+ Queen Jennas… that we cannot forge. Or do anything with.

Seriously… Queen JENNA? Why not a Dragon? Or something desirable? Jenna was a lame choice, and giving everyone the same one was also a bad idea. Same mini, on ALL your characters, with NO way to make anything new out of them.

Why not an exclusive Birthday Minipet SET? Randomized? Like in GW1?

I miss the birthdays there. So much.
