Will you get a birthday present once your character exists for 1 year?

My friend who played GW1 mentioned about b-day gifts in that game, and since then I’m wondering if we will get it in GW2. It would be really cool.

I hope they just give me a Quagganborn Tonic. Then I can go around FoOOOos Ro Dah-ing people!

In gw1 presents were special because new miniatures weren’t spammed every update. Since gw2 gives you new miniatures every 2 weeks i certainly hope 1y presents aren’t minis cuz there’s already as much minis in gw2 in under a year than gw1 in 8y

Given your general disposition towards this game I’m hesitant to ask this, but what would you rather them be if not mini-pets?

I assume if they do anything it will be on the 25th August, since that was the first day of the headstart last year. Although they could add it earlier, we still wouldn’t know until then because no one’s character would be 1 year old.

If I remember correctly they didn’t tell anyone about gifts in GW1, it was a complete surprise when it first happened and in following years they didn’t say what would be in them (most years people guessed minis, but they didn’t know which ones). I suspect they’ll do the same this time.

They will put your birthday gift on the gem store, to which you would need 800 gems to buy. Only available for one day. When you buy it and open it, you will find in it:

Box o Fun,
10 quartz ores
level 20 booster
regeneration booster
random siege blueprint
and 6 silver

because in gw1 minis were special and there was many that were insanely pricy and even if you had the crazy amount of cash ppl were asking them for, you first needed to even find a person who’s looking to sell one (mini kanaxai as an example) which could take you months. Here not only anet is spamming so many minis that none of them feel rare and unique but i could bet you that you wouldn’t even be able to sell the ones given for bday because gw2 is all about dat acc bound bs.

Only exotic minis are worth getting now, and even then I don’t know if it’ll have that same special feeling. Guess I’ll find out when I’m rich ^^

Maybe Everlasting tonics that you can fight in? Like the 6th year tonics, but only available in PvE.

Honestly, I would love to fight as a Risen “coral” enemy or even a Krait. Restrict jumping if you must, but I’d love to be underwater in Krait form fighting other Krait.

Yeah, everlasting tonics are a lil useless atm, and so are townsclothes imo. It’d definitely make it more appealing. That or some unique but weak combat skills.

I just hope it isn’t more back skins XD

in gw1…ur bday present really was all about the lottery…you could either strike it rich…or bust pretty hard…kinda gave you a rush right before you opened it

Lol on the very 1st day of the 3 day early release I had already planned ahead exactly for this question. On that day I made all 8 characters covering all classes and races. So I am HOPING we do get gifts like we did in GW1 and if we do on that day I should get 8 in one big bang! :-D

Having said all this now, Anet will probably go ahead and alter it to “account” gifts and not “character” like it was on GW1.
