3 Years ago i start playing gw2, now i quitted because there was not mutch of a nice feeling when playing without capes, any oldscooler likes to look more scary.

Now i went back from Holidays,
And i see people running arround with nice black wings, and im like wow this looks amazing how do i get it?

The answer was, u coud temporaly buy it in the Store, and im like what?
So when playing buying the game collectors edition etc, Crying waiting 3years for to have something on ur back, I GET TROLLED LIKE this?

Is this a stupid joke or somthing? Loads of people are on holidays these months,
Costumer Service on this game is really 0%

So now we can play whole time when really wanting a item in a MMORPG knowing we can never get this item, its like playing a Dungeon or Raid and knowing u will never get an upgrade on ur gear… So its with this feeling we have to play this game now? Serveral people feel so upset right now. Those wings just make the game look really good.

They’ll be back sometime in the future, however far that is.

Also, chill. The sale was a sneak peek, and those items will be back at some point in the future. And nobody is trolling you. You decided to quit playing because there were no capes (?!). If you don’t go to a store for two years, then find out there was an amazing sale for ramen noodles, and you love ramen noodles but weren’t there to buy a whole crate for a dollar, then that’s not the store’s fault. It’s your own choice to not go to the store/log in for so long, and demanding that you get access to everything you missed just because you bought the collector’s edition is… yeah, a really weird kind of entitlement.

Yea the upcomming 3months i’m 3weeks on Holiday, big vacation. Gues what same things will happen
I come back and i can wait again 6/12months, and then yea …
Point when a companey gives somting for a price, dont just show it make people feel humping their chairs for 1week and after that u cant even touch it…

Many gems store items are gone, so don’t make a big fuss about it just because a mediocre wings is gone. You’ll really get bored of the wing real quick because so many people use it, even though it doesn’t suit their look and armors at all.

First of all, it was a promotional early release teaser sale. The wings will come back for sale on the gemstore in the future (confirmed by Gaile).

Second of all, this isn’t the first time there have been limited items available in the gemstore. Majory’s Greatsword ’Belinda’s Greatsword’ was a popular sought after remodel that only appeared for a limited period. The bunny ears is a similar example.

Lastly, if you’re a veteran player, you already had numerous advantages over newer players. There are skins that are currently impossible to obtain (least not confirmed) like the PvP armour skins.

I get bored because i feel like frodobaggings when playing and not like some Lichkingalike character, on wow i used Capes/ A addon that makes u give wings on ur back

Uhm, going on vacation is your decision? And this is still a game, not a one-time chance to win the lottery or get your dream job.
It’s like whining that I can’t watch Terminator on Channel A because I’m busy watching Avengers on Channel B, and then demand those channels communicate and schedule their broadcasts to my very own special needs.

And like we told you, those wings will come back.
(And even if they wouldn’t, it would still not be Anet’s fault you weren’t there to get them…)

Also the game looks great, but really the animation on all characters need a serrieus rework. They look like some buggy things, especially for Thief dagger/dagger and Elementalist, only the ice pillar is nice, rest looks so pretty standard

Iff i knew the wings woud come b4 i planned my holiday, i woud install gw2 on holiday and buy it, i just did not know it

I’m really not going to quote you as the post will most likely be deleted shortly but even on the lowest graphic settings the wings still show up as they’re a back piece.

Oddly enough, in real life, wearing a cape doesn’t not make you look more scary. Just makes you look weird lol.

Never heard of someone quitting a game because it didn’t have capes.

It’s been said by multiple people in this thread that the wings are indeed coming back to the gem store at some later point. Also, they are certainly not .jpg files, but that’s me just being pedantic.

I do find it weird that there are literally no capes in this game. I thought it would be kind of fun to have something, anything. Hell, it’d probably be good to add them in just so that there aren’t a million people running around with spinal blades

I guess that’s the main reason the are no capes. The clipping is bad enough sometimes with normal armour and weapons, I imagine making capes that don’t look entirely hideous is a designer’s worst nightmare (and nigh impossible).

If you’re quitting a game because of something like… Capes… I think you might be nitpicking a bit much.

Wings will be coming back, Anet didn’t troll you by reading your mind, thinking “gee, this guy will totally want this”, waiting until you left and then releasing it.

Funny thing, I’m got back to the game after a 10 months break and when I saw the wings I’m ask myself if I logged in the corret MMO.

The wings look like something from a brazilian carnival…

This game is full of crying babies. I don’t even play this game anymore and still I managed to buy the wings, because I keep reading the forum. The moment those wings were on sale you could see a bunch of topics about how awesome it is. You missed it, it is your fault, pay more attention next time.

It is funny to see how anyone is crying when missed something just because of their fault for not beeing online. When offline anyone have many chances to miss something. But if this bad feeling of not having digital item is bigger than having good time on holidays instead then well… Game addiction come to daylight. Game or good holidays is more important? OP should grab himself up from floor and deal with it (anyway he is lucky because those wings will be back soon).

I was away from the game for pretty much an entire year because of life issues, and ended up missing all of Living Story season 1 and much of season 2 (though if I want to spend the gems I can still access those episodes). And no telling how many gemstore sale items I missed.

I’m not wailing, weeping, nor am I gnashing my teeth or ripping my clothes over that. My absence from the game was largely out of my control, and I feel I’ve made up a lot of lost ground in the six months or so since I returned to active playing. Being able to craft one’s first set of ascended armor plus weapon will heal a lot of wounds, I find.

How many times do we have to say the wings are coming back? The wings were on sale temporarily, but are coming back to the gem store at a future date…..

Good lord. Stop the whining. The wings will be back. You admit you don’t even play that much, so I don’t get why it really even matters if you missed a one day sale.

You shouldn’t go against the OP just cuz you don’t like/ already have the wings, as the billion of topics that everyday people create can tell us (but not to Anet) those fast sales are a terrible and frustrating idea, i won’t come back to play gw2 just because i risk to miss fast sales, i rather start hating gw2 and keep distance between it and me to play something else

I just wanna say, I was able to buy the wings,
I haven’t played since the end of LS1 I just log in though each time an episode of LS2 was released, I also have a feed of GW2 on facebook so I get update.
I do watch a lot of Wooden Potatoes, Matt V and Bog otter videos so I am always in the news,
It is your disconnect to the game that made you lose your chance to get it early but don’t fret it will come back, probably during the Heart of Thorns release XD

It’s an aesthetic money grubber in a game where you can’t actually fly. The irony is that for me personally they represent a huge “I’m a moron” sign over most players heads. I’ve seen a handful of players rocking them that look awesome, it clearly suits that character and theme but for most it’s just a “look at me…I got the new skin” sign.

Sorry to hear it’s a frustration OP but they will be old hat next month when Anet comes up with it’s next immersion breaking skin….or just wait for the expansion when every second player and their dog will be a Revenant.

Well, I don’t consider myself a moron, and I have purchased the wings. Why? Well, they are a pretty cool looking skin and I figure that at some point in the future, I may have a character that would look pretty awesome with them on, so might as well get them now.

At the moment my current alt wears them, simply because when you buy the item from gemstore, you get free backstraps and free use of the skin, in addition to unlocking. I just threw them on my current guy who didn’t have a backpiece. Most of the time I hide it, but every now and then I unhide it. Mostly to fit in :*(

Hello there. I’m posting all late in this thread. And to be frank, my reply is more of advice or rather it’s my opinion based on my observation while I’ve been playing. I can’t confirm or link to a confirm or deny post.

What I have noticed over my rough two years of playing the game is that nothing in the Gem Store seems to stay or leave forever. I’ve seen even exclusive event items return such as mini pets that were made for a spring time baby event, and even these come back eventually. Even though I waited and took the time to follow this just to get the white kitten, I’m not angry that these can still be bought from time to time. If I had missed the last one I would have been so upset and I’m glad Anet understands this much.

Even if the wings aren’t permanent when they DO come out, I have a very strong feeling that they will reoccur just like seasonal outfits! Though it may be hard to predict when since the wings don’t have a holiday theme like Christmas outfits or Valentines day gear.

So I try to keep this attitude about all Gem Store items and I hope anyone who reads this does the same, if only to keep themselves calm and to avoid the awful icky feeling of despair.

( Please if anyone has noticed something I’ve said that has been proven untrue, correct me ASAP! My intent is not to give out false information which is why I clearly state at the beginning that this is my opinion based on what I’ve seen while playing. )
