Has the gem store or gems ever had a Black Friday deal? I’m wondering if I should save money for GW or some random amazon store deal

Gems have had the same cost of real world money since launch, there have not been sales on Gems that I am aware of. As Lingang said, I think there have been/will be Black Friday Gem Store sales.

This is only part true. That sale is still on. Buy the Ultimate Edition and get the gems included for half the price.

ANet has always offered something, but opinions differ wildly about what is considered a ‘deal’ (frankly, it’s been years since I’ve seen more than a handful of Black Friday “deals” from anyone — they are mostly just the same old items that didn’t sell out when first offered, along with 1-2 attractive offers to get people to brave the traffic).

I’m looking unlimited scykle, season 2, pets and something under 1000 gems. heres hopes for something cool. I should load up on gems as well. but I’m waiting for the rare chance to get a deal on a gem card. (doubt it will happen but still looking.)

I know, it’s been said a million times before but I would pay over 9000 gems just for them to bring back Aviator Sunglasses. for reals.

That or I would humbly welcome discounted prices of bag/character slots and/or the return of the bundle that sold Silverwaste shovels, I forget the name of it.. Sadly. That’d be nice.

Kinda off topic but: I would buy more total makeover kits if they added more variety of colors to choose from in the accessory section. Please, ANet.

Until they fix WvW or just restore the maps to what they used to be, I’m not buying any gems. They already completely killed my ability to play as a small guild, we used to run 5 man WvW runs until HoT, now guild catas cost twice as much supply and aren’t as obtainable, we can no longer use the guild buffs that we earned before, instead we have to try to reearn them with 5 people… Just unreal how cheated I feel by this expansion..

Do you guys think there will be any sales in the gem store for Black Friday ?

Aren’t there almost always sales in the gem store? I look in there once every 6 months or so, but every time I do something is on sale.

There was a twitter post saying there would be free items in the gem store this weekend. As for Black Friday… that’s mostly a U.S. thing, as any other country that does celebrate some form of Thanksgiving do so in a different day.

It’s a US game. In GW1 they actually had a thanksgiving event in game and pie and cider would drop from monsters.

Anywho, I’m guessing HoT itself might go on sale.

Amazon and Asda (aka Walmart) are credited (blamed?) with introducing it to the UK a couple of years ago. Last year some of the UK supermarkets hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Scuffles and arrests at checkouts, TV’s falling on people’s heads, an old lady pushed to the ground in a dispute over a cheap TV. So this year the big players have played it down a little and tried to spread it out and direct some of it online. Shame really. That’s the most entertaining the news has ever been…
