Hello all,

Of the 44 items selling at BLTC we have 3 special offers.

That is about 7% of the products are on sale. Not my idea of a Black Friday..:(

IMO, from the 3 products on sale, only the Fine transmutation Stones can have some value to players that change looks a lot. The rest is kind of useless.

Maybe they want us to keep wasting gems with new options everyday instead of assessing all offers at same time and plan accordingly?

I am quite interested in those 25 keys for one.
And I would be very interested in those stones if not for the fact that I would probably get more than enough from those keys and so on.

I’ve already spent buckets on fine transmutation stones. The fact that they’re on sale now makes me very happy. They’re also selling black lion merchants for super cheap…

Don’t care about the Black lion keys though. You have to buy them in freaking $20 chunks in order to get the deal. That’s just dumb. I don’t want 25 of them. I want 5. If that.

My entire guild flipped out when the sales appeared tonight. We’re all thrilled with even those three options… Can’t wait to see what goes on sale tomorrow.

I’m not spending a single penny until we get a straight forward reply about why they added stat increase, unless it’s an awesome costume or something.

Yeah, if they sold them on sale in smaller chunks I’d spend a couple bucks, but I’m not about to shell out a whole $20 for what will inevitably be useless to me.

Why are you going through them transmution stones like candy to a kid?, I have a stack of around 30 in my bank from game rewards and occasional chest, and only used 6 on transmuting 1 set of karma armour.

I’m absolutely gobsmacked and amazed at how many of you waste money on the items in cash shop, none of which gives much benefit to the game or your character.

It does say UP TO 70% however.
Also keep in mind that there will be discounts during the whole weekend.

No lordkrall, no one is forcing us to buy from the gem store but the offers should be interesting and not useless, after all it is in their interest that we buy, right?

Based on the information ArenaNet have the most sold items in the store is most likely the Keys and Transmution stones. So wouldn’t it be quite logical to put those on sale?

Oh noooo… They are selling stuff for 50% less their price!!! I am furious… They should never have done that! They never told it on their manifesto… I am going to quit this game!

lordkrall, from a business perspective and within the spirit of a Black Friday sale everyhting should be on sale with different % of discount. After all, we are all buying pixels.

Eddie Van Grog, stuff at 50% discount does not mean it is worth to buy…and it is you who brought the manifesto. To me, the manifesto is just a statement of good intentions.

They are adding more sales during the weekend, simple as that.

And indeed, we are buying pixels, so why does it matter?

My point is just that these forums are filled with negative posts that help achieving nothing! Just that…

lordkrall, it matters because this sale is very limited daily and will only affect 20% of the items (during the 3 days) in the gem store when it should be done all at same time and include all the items with different % discounts.

But it is still just pixels so why bother?

Eddie Van Grog, no obscure reasons here. For sure you have been at a Black Friday sale and you know how it is. I was expecting something similar, thats all. My original post just points out the very limited number of articles on sale and their worthiness for most of the players, in my opinion (this is for lordkrall..:))

But if “most of the players” that uses the gem store has bought keys and/or transmution stones isn’t it quite logical to assume that “most of the players” are interested in those specific items and therefore would be interested in a sale of those specific items?

lordkrall, actually I would be very interested to see statistics about the BLTC since day one.

I can accept that in the first 4 weeks when the game was brand new, BL keys and transmutation stones were the hot items. But now? Hummmm…..

I think it would be an awesome move from the company, sharing the data with us..:)

lordkrall is correct people will moan about anything, I cant see how any one has the right to moan about this because they are doing it for nothing you don’t have to buy anything. But the people who do get it cheaper great!

A lot of players have gems saved up when they where cheap.

The Gem Store generally has been a disappointment for me. It’s all a bit bland and those Black Lion Keys have always been so overpriced considering the drop rate on chests – I’d like to have seen some armor skins and costumes ala GW1.

I had been buying gems monthly to support ANet as I felt the game was well worth a monthly fee until last weekend – I’m hugely disappointed in ANet for their changes in game direction and their silence on the issue means they’ve done nothing to address community concerns so I am voting with my cash and no longer buying gems. I converted all my gems to ingame gold.

What store has everything on sale during Black Friday? The idea is to offer a very limited insane deal that maybe 3 people will get, then the rest of the customers end up buying a bunch of other stuff while they are there. I don’t get why anyone would be upset about the items they have discounted today.

Keys are supposed to be their big money maker and they have them on sale. Be happy. I wouldn’t expect to see anything that you can sell in the TP go on sale such as minis or dyes because that could really upset the market. The one thing I want to see on sale is the Digital Deluxe Upgrade. I want to see it go from 2000 gems to 1600 gems so its only $20 instead of $25 so its the same price difference between the standard and digital deluxe price.

You’re making the assumption that 1. No one is interested in the items that are on sale (personally, very interested in the fine transmutation stones). 2. That you aren’t going to be interested in the items that go on sale in the next two days. and 3. That a black friday sale has to conform to your expectations for some reason.

On BF, stores aren’t obligated to make everything on sale. Some raise the prices while still making it look like a good deal (a 50% entire store sale that ends up raising the price of all the 60% and 70% off items from the week before, for example). The impression I get is that you wanted a certain item and it hasn’t gone on sale yet. Give it time. It just might. If not, Wintersday is just around the corner.

I have to say I agree with Paintrain. Nobody is forced to buy these items if they do not want them, so there is no real reason to complain about it. Furthermore RedBaron your argument that nobody wants these items is not based on any facts, just your opinion which makes it invalid. As well as this you have stated that from a business perspective all items should be on sale. This is laughable to be honest, I would love to see your predicted financial benefits from this action as you seem to know how to run their business very well.

But they are giving us something for nothing, they are giving us 50% of certain items, we do not have to pay or do anything for this 50%.

Alex, in the case of GW2 it would be the smartest thing to do. After all the items sold at BLTC are virtual and any discount offered will not have any impact on the value chain of the product (short term).

Products that need to be manufactured are different from products created by the click of a mouse..:)

This just in, they’ve rethought it and are now offering all the items they had selected for sale at once instead of breaking them up into a few one day, a different few the next etc.

Now, of course, we need to take issue that, no matter how many items are being offered our position will remain that it’s an unsatisfactory amount. If for some reason they do acquiesce and offer a satisfactory amount of items daily (read: ALL) we’ve already developed an alternate complaint that the amount of the discounted price is unsatisfactory. Which ever way they proceed we’re confident that we can maintain a complaint about something!

(… joking, of course…)
