So… I’ve never once received a scrap from Black Lion Chests. I’ve opened plenty. And when it claims that they’re a common drop, I assume to have at least received one!
Unfortunately I have not.
Is there something I missed? Is there a reason when I searched the forums for “Black Lion Claim Ticket Scrap” that nothing came up?
I’m a bit confused.

The drop rate for the scraps can be pretty low, from what I’ve seen, and the actual tickets are much worse. Took me close to 30 chests to get the last 3 scraps I needed for one of the Tormented weapons, while my friend got somewhere around 12 scraps in 25 or so chests. It’s pretty random, but if you’re lucky, you can get them to drop 2 or 3 at a time.

Personally, I’ve never been that lucky.

They do drop from the chests. About 10 chests ago, I got two scraps from one chest, and the chest before last, I got a Claim Ticket and a scrap. Opening a chest or two per week over the last 3 months or so, I have a total of 3 Claim Tickets from scraps and the one actual Ticket. It’s just random what anyone receives from the chests.

As for the search, the Search function for the forums has been unreliable for a very long time.

I’ve done a bit of key farming and it seems to average about 1 scrap in 5 chests. I did recently get a scrap and a ticket in one chest but again I must have opened at least 100 before that.

I’ve been keeping records for the last 60 key runs and so far it’s averaging out to one every 4.6 runs (21.7% chance) and the most time without a scrap has been 8 runs.

The rate for scraps here is 173 out of 848 opened chests, which is a 20.4% chance (every 4.9 chests). The chance for a ticket is of course much lower, 6 out of 848 or 1 ticket out of every 141 chests. Essentially though you should get 10 scraps about every 50 keys or so.

Of course, RNG is RNG. Your mileage will vary.

This is almost exactly the same as me. I got two scraps tonight from a chest, but otherwise, I’m in the same boat. They do drop… just really stingy.
