Okay Anet. I’m done with this.

Please fix teleport skills. When I am frantically trying to escape a deadly situation with Blink or some other teleport, and my mouse cursor happens to graze a UI element, my character teleports TO THE SAME LOCATION SHE IS CURRENTLY STANDING.

Make the cursor ignore the UI when casting a ground targeted ability.

For Thieves, Mesmers, and Eles a successful teleport is often the difference between life and death. I’m sick of my UI getting me killed. It mostly happens when I am desperately trying to teleport up to a ledge or walkway. It is beyond frustrating.

On that note how about when I happen to be targeting terrain that is 0.01 microns out of the max casting range? Can we please have it teleport you to the max allowed distance in that general direction???

I posted this in a fit of rage. I do hope my self control kept it tame enough… What happened was an AFK minion master necro was standing on a point. I come over on my shatter mesmer, blow through my cooldowns trying to burst him. He only goes down to like 80% health. Wtf… I try to blink away from his army of minions, but the blink hits my UI and sends me nowhere. Proceed to die to minions of an AFK necro because my UI kittenblocked my blink.

There is also other bug. Can’t move for some time after using teleport and no, this is no lag cuz my mesmer friend has same issue with blink. Hope Anet will fix this…

As for UI thing: are you using left mouse click to use the skill? Pressing the skill button again works as well (like, 7 to display marker – 7 to blink); once I discovered that trick, my AoE life got a lot easier.

20 level 80s and counting.

I have noticed this too. Sometimes if you teleport while holding down W, A, S, or D to move, your character stops moving after the teleport as if you released the button when you didn’t.

I use fast cast ground targeting. I press 7 to Blink and it automatically casts the skill at my mouse cursor’s current location on release of the button. I never left or right click skill buttons on the UI during combat. The reason I have trouble is because if my mouse cursor happens to intersect with a UI element at the time of the button press, it wastes the skill and sends me nowhere. My mouse cursor goes to all kinds of crazy places in the heat of combat, especially with teleport skills for which it is most beneficial to try to cast them at their max range, so that you gain max distance from your pursuer. Max distance of the skill usually happens to be close to the edge of the screen where the UI is located.

The most frequently offending scenerio is when I am engaging an enemy and I must face that enemy in order for my attacks to hit. During the fight, I take a lot of damage or get stunned. My only viable escape path options are either behind me, or above my head. In order to successfully cast a teleport at it’s max range in those directions, my cursor must come very close to, or directly over part of the UI. Since the UI causes teleports to fail, these situations usually result in death.
