I’m posting this here because the suggestions sub-forum is unusable.

Whispers:
Instead of having to appear offline to prevent whispers, you should have an option where you can receive whispers from people on your friend list only.
This would prevent gold spammers from whispering you if enabled.

Mail:
As mentioned in the previous suggestion, having an option to only receive mail from friends would kill off the gold spammers.

Cut the word “gold” out of your post and topic or your thread will be closed soon.
As for the whispers: I think if a player get reported, lets say 50 times in 1 hour, for the same violation, he should be temporarely banned from chat until his case got reviewed.

The root problem is the USERNAME shows up on every post you make on this forums. They just copy paste and spam by browsing on the forums picking up names.

Anet should remove the ABCDE.1234 numbers. like leave it at ABCDE without the .1234

So they can’t whisper from copy pasting names off the forums.

Strange, I usually receive them after using the LFG tool. Are you sure this is the root of the problem… or just another counterpart?

I wish Anet allowed us to simply filter out key words in spam messages. That way I would never ever have to read any sentence any more that contains the word [redacted by moderator]
