Is it possible to block people both ways? For example: if I blocked someone, I can’t message them and they can’t message me.

Not at this time. You can, however, become Invisible to stop incoming messages (whispers).

Actually, if you have someone blocked, you’ll get an error message if you try to message them and you’ll appear as ‘offline’ when they try to whisper you.
