Hello,
I have a question. As we all know, China client has all human bones, flesh and blood censored due to region and it’s culture, nothing wrong about that.
But I’ve been wondering. Current EU/NA PEGI allows for these things and we have them.
But will we ever see bones, skulls, blood in future updates/releases again? Because implementing those to our version means that Devs have to re-skin everything that contains them and replace with something else (as we all saw, that “else” can be pretty hillarious, like icon for Consume Conditions).
Since it’s a bonus work, artwork, graphics does it mean that everything for the game will be now created with Chinese restrictions in mind? I don’t want more ponies and miniskirts coming out, not to mention Cantha.
The game needs some more serious visuals and totally erasing any blood (it’s already very rare in game), bones, skulls and flesh means that with the current story, it can be even lower PEGI, like 6+.
The no blood, bones, etc. isn’t culture, it’s government censorship. As to whether we will continue to see T rating stuff, I’m sure of it. It will just get censored out by the China team. I’m more worried about those living in China (such as myself) getting cut off from the NA/EU servers that we play on due to the China launch and how much the government watches the internet. To be honest, I’m surprised I’m able to post here.
GW2 doesn’t really have much gore to begin with, they make up for the lack of dark themes with an abundance of adult themes like most female armor sets just being thongs and bras :P
USA: Blood and guts. A-OK!
USA: Sexualisation. Outrage!
China: Sexualisation. A-OK!
China: Blood and guts. Outrage!
Us Europeans are cool with either, except for Germany, who’ll replace evildoers with robots.
Does humongous purple spooge during champ fights really count as blood?
Well, many fighting sounds are very similar to a sound of kicked trashcan. But there’s a little blood in the game and bones.
Could be more tbh. And more worthwhile sounds.
Necromancer’s Scepter sound has been considered as “tennis rocket” since release with a reason.
