Bolts of Silk Rebalancing?
Everyone complained that Damask was out of line, compared to the other Asc. mats, and that it should be balanced. Anet in their genius balanced them by increasing the usage of the other mats by 500ish % and thus, everything is much more expensive but they’re all around the same price now. I had well over 100 of each mat from when they all cost 1-2.5g to craft. hehe
Silk scraps have gone down since HoT when they made changes. So they did do something to benefit players in regards to silk. We had them at 3.06s on October 21st and they’re now 1.89s. That’s 9.18G vs 5.67G for damask thread which is about a 38% drop in cost. That’s fairly significant.
There was a comment stating that the soft wood change was one of more changes done to make material price via refinement more in line to each other. The soft wood change was unintended to go live so soon but they figured it wasn’t worth reverting temporarily.
Silk might be getting a change planned already. I say hold off on arguing whether it should or shouldn’t until we know what these other ‘material balance’ changes are.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I honestly thought this was going to be about how much silk has crashed in value. Seems like the market is now flooded and silk is on its way to being trash. I think between the differences in our views that it has balanced out quite a bit. I used to have people complaining about silk left and right but that vanished about a month ago and now no one seems to be short of supply. I would say let it ride for now.
