I received the Boot Requisition Order as a drop. Double clicked on it to get from the bandit crest collector, and nothing happened other than it disappeared. Since you can buy the carapace boot box for 1000 crests and 1 gold, I thought with the requisition order you just got them without paying anything. Was I wrong? Suggestions?

No, what they decided to do (and irk a lot of people who thought it was cool that they were getting armor for completing living story) was lock all the armor behind ridiculous farms. The boot requisition order is an RNG based drop (and I think a reward for an achievement? Not sure, I lost interest in the armor once they made it a grind) that just means now you can buy it for 1000 crests and 1 gold, it does not actually earn you boots.

Seriously, poor move on dev’s part to do that. Especially since people were annoyed already by the need to grin 1k badges per armor. The only thing they did right was let you get the shoulders each time you complete that story arc.

Personal opinion here, but I question whether Anet-induced farms are more likeable, profitable or better than player-induced. Whatever farms players find, Anet has an innate proficiency to nerf almost as immediately.

Maybe it’s just me here, but I find myself ducking away from not only Silverwastes but the Dry Top region as well, because the farming there isn’t fun, the people farming there are sporadic at best (often need to taxi people in), and the requirements to earn a recipe or an armour piece are beyond a joke.

I don’t find the requirements to get either of these items fun or necessary, they’re just pure annoying attempts to keep people in an area. Probably because we HAVE to be there to earn the required currency or the items needed to trade for the rewards, and imo at least, that’s not the way to go about it.

When you double clicked it, it unlocked the ability to buy the boots for the price you saw. Without using it like that, you can’t even buy the boots.

Yeah, it’s stupid.
