You are aware that this update gave us more story than many others, right?

It’s entirely possible he hasn’t been in the instance yet.
I’d say this is the best story release BY FAR.

Before you complain, you should do the story that came with this update. There’s a lot covered.
Yes I really enjoy the update, and just because I enjoy the update you should too.
Since if I enjoy it, why won’t you?
So little story has occurred in this game that a few conversation points does not constitute as an amazing story update. Can’t blame the guy for being bored.

The OP does however seem to either completely ignore (or might be unaware of) the fact that there are much more than two boss-fights in the update.

In all fairness I actually dont’ like huge update, since I’m not sure if I have time to spend on huge update.
That being said, if the guy dont’ like the update, it is his opinion. Just because you like it, don’t mean he have to like.

Maybe I’m missing something. All I found is an instance story in lion’s arch. And Scarlet lair(which I havn’t been to), only read on the forum.
You have to admit, if you exclude the 2 boss fight. The amount of content is much less than the previous living story.
Just wait for the Cantha update. That will be the best story content since Beta.

But the amount of story (which the OP complained about) is more than most other Living Story chapters.

I am also unaware. I know there is an LA thing and Scarlet’s lair. I’ve seen a couple Aetherblades guarding those electrical dealios out in the world, but that’s not really content. What is there to do? I ask because I’ve still not had a chance to do the fights because I won’t afk in Lornar’s or Bloodtide for 2 hours while waiting, and every time I check in to see what’s up, there’s nothing going on.
I was really looking forward to some content after the long holiday break, but I’m not seeing the content you’re talking about.

Do you know as in have done it or has heard of it? (Since you have not tried Wurm and Marionette I assume you have heard of it only).
There is a rather large amount of story in the LA instance, and in Scarlet’s Lair, including rather interesting indications about what will come next, and some things more or less confirming certain theories that have been discussed on these forums and reddit.

Ok, I think you are thinking literally about the “story”. I think the OP means beside the 2 open world boss, the amount of content(which can be finish in 2 minutes) isn’t enough to keep people busy(if they dont’ want to do the open world boss).
And dont’ tell me grinding core is content. I think he mean interesting content.
And by the look of people still doing tequalt. I think there are quite a bit of people not that fond of the open world boss.
Yeah, I saw what was in Scarlet’s Lair when people posted it on the forums. It’s cool and interesting, but having seen it on the forums I now feel even less motivation to do the boss fights and get what I need to go to her Lair myself. I did not check out the LA instance yet, and I do plan to do that, but that’s story, not content. It’ll hold my attention for 5-10 minutes, right?
For example, while playing this weekend, what is there to do other than:
1) fight boss
2) wait 2 hours
3) fight boss again

The bosses are hourly, so the wait is more like 30 minutes. Assuming you do both.

What were you doing before this update? The game hasn’t stopped.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

This particular defense of the Living Story comes up far to often. Whatever someone enjoyed before this update will eventually run out or grow stale. If they want more content in the vein exploring new zones, experiencing new Personal Story, or trying out new builds they’re out of luck. That means, effectively, the game has or will die for those who don’t enjoy the Living Story. And before you reply with “so go play something else,” remember that a larger community is and always will be better than a smaller one where MMOs are concerned.

The living story is ok if you enjoy the open world boss.
I think the problem is there are people dont’ enjoying it.
And since the 2 boss is the focus of this living story, if they dont’ enjoy it, they find it lackster.

Yeah, whatever. The guy seems to think he has to stand in one spot for two hours to take part in an event. Your feelings of this game aside, this guy doesn’t have to do that.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
the story is awesome ^^ get good and beat the marionette (it’s much easier than the last few big world bosses) and you’ll get to see the awesomeness

Because most games update their content every six weeks.
I think people are spoiled. There’s two weeks now, one of which is mostly passed, before the next update. I think that’s the point.
It’s not like we didn’t have two week updates for the last several months before the Christmas break.
People are saying this isn’t enough content for a two week update. Well it is. It’s six weeks because of the break.
I’d also like to note that a lot of people were asking for a break from the two week content, because they felt overwhelmed by the content. That’s not a complaint I’ve often heard in response to MMO patch updates.
I think people are spoiled.
Ah, the “you’re spoiled” card…how original. “If you have criticisms of this game then you must be spoiled, because I think it’s fine the way it is.”

That’s probably because most MMO patch updates don’t drop a checklist in your lap and tell you you’ve got two weeks to finish it before it’s taken away and another checklist is dumped in your lap. People are usually free to enjoy MMO patch updates at their own pace.

This is really really trying ~hard~ to milk it. And the fact that you included the current joke that sPVP is; balancing of which happens at an abysmal rate and at a glacial pace.
Krytan language debunking? What the hell? Trading post PvP?
Guild Wars 1 had not even a quarter of the supposed options that have been listed here and they kept me along with many other people entertained for what, a good 5+ years? I too am already bored kittenless to be really honest. I haven’t logged in for weeks.
The game has the worst community around, and a lot of it stems from players frustration; the same frustration that people like the OP have due to either content being pushed in the wrong direction, or stagnation through neglect (I’m talking from a PvP perspective in terms of function, not rewards, the latter which has been partially addressed).

I hear what you’re saying. I’ve gotten more and more distant from the game. I think it lost me sometime after fractured.
Updates like this are difficult for me because I have a very time consuming job and I don’t have hours to wait around for events to spawn in the evenings. I realize that I am likely not their target audience anymore however it is still a factor that drives my interest down more.
I gave the marionette a go or two last night but each time another platform group failed. I don’t know if it’s weak player skills or bad team design for the event. I have not tried the wurm yet so I’ll reserve judgement.
Still, this LS update is better than ones we’ve seen in the past. Granted I think Anet is atrocious at writing a story. They don’t seem to think a few steps ahead (which is crucial in a good story). They introduce characters on the spot and invent backstory for them on the spot. It all feels very DexM to me.
That said, at least the current story is being fleshed out more and we have more to go on. Am I interested? I can’t say that I am…but maybe I’ve been biased against this because the LS to date has been so bad. Maybe their new season will have a fresh start and they can apply the lessons learned.
I think people are spoiled.
