The Guild Wars community has been so upset in recently, the last thing we need is more fuel added to the fire.
Edit – Not a fan of the Bloody Prince, his inclusion completely detracted from Mad King Thorn.

If we are just going to repeat halloween events, why not the first yeat. It was much more fun.
No one said anything of repeat content from last year. All we have so far is that “Blood and Madness” is returning.

It’s not reasonable to expect tons of new stuff every halloween, and for a two week period not worth working on it that much with everything esle going on, if they have to redo half of it every year.
That’s a bad time investment.
They designed The Festivals so that they could re-use them… How often do people change their own traditions in real life? I know that my family does Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in the SAME annual fashion every year. there are sometimes tweaks but the general bits stay they same. I like a that I will get to reply annual content. I am excited.

And it begins already, like when Wintersday was going on after the Tower of Nightmares and Scarlet apparently had a big threatening presence on the horizon, and people made light of it.

“Blood and Madness” is not the name of the festival itself, but the name specifically of last years Halloween content.
Reusing that name rather than a new name or just calling it the Halloween update does at least suggest its possible they might just be using the exact same story and content from last year again. Its certainly not confirmed, but its not completely ridiculous for some people to worry that they might reuse it.
Hopefully that won’t be the case, but who knows.
I’ll be pretty disappointed if it is just a complete redo of last years. It would make little to no sense, for one. Not to mention the fact that I played the heck out of the content last year (and the year before for that matter) so if its just more of the same it won’t really be much for me to do. I’m sure I’ll enjoy running the Clock Tower some more, but the labyrinth and the story instances… eh, not too excited about those if they aren’t spiced up with new stuff in some way.
I don’t really mind ANet recycling festival content (see Labyrinthine Cliffs), but I feel they didn’t do themselves any favours when they created Blood and Madness. It introduced us to a new narrative involving the Mad King and the Bloody Prince, and now there’s the unspoken expectation that this story will be built on.
Still, if it’ll allow newer players the chance to do the Blood and Madness story, as well as potentially allowing us to do the Ascent to Madness mini-dungeon again, along with the Labyrinth, Clock Tower, and other minigames, I’m content.
I sincerely hope they have new enjoyable content.

I liked the premise, but the pay off was lackluster.
It would have been awesome if we were able to choose a side and the outcome would determin the next halloween story, as the looser would have to regain his power, while maybe a new part of the thorns lineage and history would be unvailed.

Yeah but if at least the rest held a candle to GW1, we wouldn’t mind having the same celebration (after all, IRL celebrations are somehow the same each and every year).

No, I’m not. Let’s compare the first Halloween of GW1 and GW2, shall we?
At the first halloween of GW1 there was only Tyria , but at the second they added Kamadan as well. On the third halloween we got a PvP mode: Costume Brawl.
Now let’s take a look on GW2’s halloween what has been added : a few soloable story instance. What has been removed :
-Dungeon: Ascent to Madness
- Reaper’s Rumble (MOBA Style pvp)
-Backpack scavanger hunt
- Pumpkin Carvin
- Removed the achievement points for completing Mad King’s clocktower
-I’m not sure, but I think the four Meta events in the open world, which lead to the opening of the haunted doors also got removed.
What I’m expecting this year: redecorated LA since it’s kinda destroyed ATM and new gemstore items, if you except those you can’t be disappoint.
In short: Yes, we didn’t get much in GW1 from year to year, but we always got something significant like Costume brawl, new quests or the underworld challange, and I can’t say an example of something got removed.
Also, this is my personal opinion, but I liked the finale better in 1, they had much better yearly festival masks and in GW2 we have much less emote, which makes it kinda boring.
