Boss - foot and bottom
Do tequatl and move your camera a bit.
Er, what?
I’m really not sure what you’re talking about, but it kinda sounds like you might be having some graphical problems.
He’s talking about the camera, how it’s always pointing towards the ground, and there’s almost no reason to do otherwise – in fact, usually angling your camera upwards puts you at a disadvantage. It’s a shame the camera implementation was so badly done in this game, I was really hoping for a more action oriented game, but i feels like a standard MMO, control-scheme wise, but with more moving involved.

Indeed, its almost like there’s no ability to reach a reasonable zoom level from melee . . .

You can scroll out to increase your field of view and holding down the right button on your mouse lets you move the camera.

So when you guys fight large bosses – dodging waves / fighting adds / rezzing downed players – you can see more than a boss’s lower section? I suppose I can just go spectate fights if i want to see more than a foot, but that doesn’t sound fun.
You guys aren’t seeing the problem ? It’s not that you can’t see the face of the boss, it’s that you’re only giving it a pedicure instead of bashing it at his head or even his chest or back (or well anywhere aside from a foot)
so you choose to use a melee weapon and are surprised you can’t see all of a gigantic creature 10x your size?
Really?
The problem here is not with the game.

You are absolutely right! People that melee should not be able to see what they are fighting other than the feet! Thank you for enlightening me.
Yes, this game lacks that epic feeling for boss fights.
I would love to jump on top of a large boss to slay it.
This game has a pathable z-axis but does not take advantage of the z-axis in large boss fights. Hmm…
Sadly, I think there’s 2 reasons for this:
1. Technical limitations of the engine.
2. Players who hate (and/or are terrible) at jumping.
I also think zerging and/or explosions of graphics makes all this too difficult.

Yes, most bigger world bosses unlock wider zoom for the time of the encounter, just use your mouse wheel to make use of it.

Try getting very close (melee range) to something that is many, many times your height. Now tell me how easily you are able to see it all at once.

Food for thought: The Shadow Behemoth does a pretty good job of adjusting the camera, doesn’kitten
(Edit: Does. Not. it. C’mon, autocensor, if you want me to pay attention to you, just say something. We don’t have to play these games~)
I’m sure that’s more practical for some bosses than others, but I always thought that fight was pretty cool visually.
Funny, I thought this would be a thread about this. This is with the FX reduction active.
everytime i fight lupicus i basically see his head. Alls yous have to do is zoom out and then move the camera so you have a sort of eagle eye view. Its actually really helpful for positioning. Although dont keep it there the whole time
By boss, I assume you mean dragon. Because there are plenty of human sized bosses too. You’ve never seen the Flame Shaman’s head? lol

he zooms in all the way to check and see if the bosses have had pedicures
then he forgets to zoom out
just zoom out, mouse=scroll. for really huge bosses, unless you use range attack, you wont see head.
