Here’s a video that I think ArenaNet should see, it shows a bot train farming in the starter Norn area, which shows that the botters have confidence that they won’t get banned, or they just don’t care. Can I get some sort of response on the matter of banning, bots, and overall the state of the game? Being transparent is very important to keep a good player base, people need to have information. I love your game, but there’s always something in everything that could use a bit of fixing.

They’ve been around since like the 2nd day of the game release. They ban them but they just keep comming back. Maybe they should ask Bliz for tips.

What I don`t understand is. Every bot or gold seller has to spend 60 bucks to access the game. If they get banned wouldn`t they have to spend another 60 bucks to get back into the game again? Are there that many people buying gold that these bot companies can keep affording to pay 60 bucks per shot everytime they get one of the bots banned? They must be making a fortune to be able to stay in buisness.

@Banewrath
Those are probably accounts they have access to through their database of stolen passwords.

The thing about the bot problem is one it doesn’t halt progress and two it’s not a simple problem to solve. Obviously just banning these accounts isn’t stopping them.

Yeah but even if passwords were stolen. They could see that the original user of the account is based in the US or Canada or whatever, and when they monitor the bot activity and see the user online then is from Bejing or any other part of the world then it`s a dead givaway. Disable the account and send the owner an email and either help him restructure his account and password or have him contact Anet. I think if someone reported a hacked or stolen account they would probably disable it to beginwith until the issue was settled.

But I report at least 12-20 bots a night. Most are the same ones that are perma camped in areas and some are new ones I have caught. On Anvil Rock there is probably more bots then actual players in close to every zone you go to. At least it feels that way. People don`t even use landmarks or waypoints for directions. They just say, over there, go left and when you see the group of ranger bots, turn right.

I have seen over 50 of them today and no they don’t ban them, i have seen the same 4 bots pathing the same path for over 1 week at shelter in cursed shore which is extremely high traffic so they would be reporting tons, they are too slow.
25 reports = ban, gm checks the 25 reported player and checks what he did wrong, if 25 ppl from one guild used it to grief someone they all get banned.
They have to do something. This game has no game master presence. you can’t speak to them.

Hi everybody.

Arrownin, the forums are not the best place to let us know about these issues. Be sure that the team is working on this intensely.

The best thing players can do is continue to report every incident of suspected botting behavior they witness using the in-game ticketing system.

Thanks for the continued reports and everyone’s patience. It’s greatly appreciated!
