Botting?
No, this is maze balm farm.
No, this is maze balm farm.
Why would the naked ones not attack the enemies though? They only turned the ambient creatures and then just stood there.
If they dont attack they won’t get loot as far as I’m aware.
Ppl group up for maze balm and do it naked so everyone can get credit.
The armored one was possibly a troll trying to break their farm.
And btw botting requires usage of 3rd party automated script to run your character and skills which you can’t prove.

Yea, the naked ones didn’t even have weapons however and they were all in the same guild. It just seemed very suspicious looking to me.
So probably using maze balm counts as tagging a mob and armored guy one shot mobs for loot. This is not botting, this is a farm. Poorly implemented but fully acceptable by anet. I don’t understand why and I find this farm obnoxious, but who am I to judge.
So, you can report them, probably nothing happens. There’s actually no much we can tell you on forums without video.
I remember I bumped into this group in that same area a couple of months ago, after a while of looting I stopped and thought if this was illegal and started deleting all my bags.
PvX
Sounds strange though. Since the naked people were following the armored person the armored person was part of their group. But I thought everyone had to hit to get loot.
Perhaps the agreement was that the armored person does all the killing and they split the loot but I would think there would be more loot if all tagged it. And if they aren’t going to hit, why remove the armor?
ANet may give it to you.
Were they using a utility skill instead of a weapon?
Point is, if they weren’t tagging the candy corn elementals, they were not getting anything…..
If you think they were botting then report them and let Anet sort out of they were or weren’t botting.
This is actually easily explained. When you have a group of people fully geared doing a maize balm farm, in a lower level area, there’s a good chance that one player might accidentally kill the candy corns being spawned before the rest can hit them and get a tag. The larger the party doing the farm, the less likely members in that group will be able to tag the enemies because of how fast they die.
So to alleviate this issue, farm groups tend to remove all their gear so that they do less damage. That way they can all attack and get a hit in before the candy corns die. It means killing ever so slightly slower, but it’s suitable for larger groups who want to share the rewards and save the amount of maize balms used by sharing them. If you didn’t see any of the naked people attacking, it might be because they are using utility skills to do damage. Usually the people holding the balm want to use all three throws, so they can’t use a weapon and the balms at the same time. They equip slot skills that do damage instead, like Mesmer mantras (which cast instantly and have no animation outside of the preparation animation) or ranger traps, etc.
So, in all likelihood, this is definitely not a bot farm. In either case I doubt there are any programs that are intricate enough to handle something as delicate as a maize balm farm, given the steps you need to take to do it properly and not stuff it up.

It just sounded so funny. I love how unrealistic MMOs are. You see an armored guy and a group of naked guys following him doing just stupid things. I had laughed my kitten off ^^
