Every day I log in and I start doing my daily, like most people I presume.
Since im not very creative I always do my Gathering in the same area for some Elder wood and Mithril ore. But lately I took notice of people killing Risen.
Altho this might not sound strange, its 1 always the same people and 2 repeating the same path over and over and over again. Most of them are Guardians and they show weird behavior.

- Spamming Virtues before attacking a Risen
- There either not in a Guild, or in the Same guild. ( wich I wont post since im not sure)
- I see them if I log early like today. or at evenings after I got home from work.

I reported just 1 person so far. Because im affraid it might get me banned if I report to much. ( happend to me before in another game)

The bots can be found East of Penitent Waypoint in Cursed shore
They move up towards North of Caer shadowfain waypoint.
Thats in the north area of Cursed shore.

ps: Ive seen all classes, but most of them are Guardians

Guardians are probably the most difficult ones to tell for sure…. but ALL bots have lots of “Tells”:

  • Running always in mostly straight lines and only engaging mobs that come into direct aggro-range with them. (Easily missing easier-to-kill mobs off to the side by mere feet from their aggro-range).
  • Always dodging or using Evading skills even when not seriously hurt or even outnumbered. (Shortbow rangers especially.)
  • Popping their Elite skill even in 2 on 1’s instead of grouping mobs together before popping it.
  • Appear to be wearing Knights or other gear that sacrifices Power for survival when every actual human being is capable of Zerking (or atleast Valk’ing/Assassin’s) every group of mobs when out casually farming for mob drops.

But probably the most FUN giveaway (in my testing) …has been when… you for instance, pull a Veteran Giant into their pathway and just casually leave it there for them to fight. This is the real giveaway…. b/c the Bot will usually just target whatever is closest: usually the endlessly respawning Grubs. And it won’t be smart enough to path away or “run for it”. It will continually rally itself (Necro Bots especially) until it’s downed so much it insta-dies. And then it will usually WP away instantly.

In some cases Guardian & Warrior bots may actually defeat the Giant. But that’s only b/c Guards/Wars are OP in PvE in general (and everyone knows it, haha)

I used to program some for Quake & a few other Mods…
Even programmed some AI in a few RTS’s that I couldn’t beat myself :p

It’s actually really boring and tedious in practice though…. mostly If(entity.Radius < X+Y * r) or some other conditional varied 20 different ways.

I could probably program much smarter ones than these but I think their existence in general is a cancer in the long run and I report them on a regular basis (not TOO regular, I don’t want to run the risk of being seen as the boy who cried wolf by GM’s who barely even know how to operate their own Dev tools)

Hello there,

As we already have a thread to report such issues here : Bot Hot Spots, this one is now closed.

Please make sure to follow Gaile’s instructions when posting in this thread:

If you would like to submit a report, please understand this is an possible bot area report system (not an individual botter report) and provide us with the following:

  1. Map and Location: Map name and general spot on the map
  2. World (aka server)
  3. Date and time of day, plus timezone: 1:00 PM Pacific Time on January 8, 2013

Please do not provide:

  • Screenshots (which are a form of “name and shame” because they contain character names and could include innocent players)
  • Names of presumed botters

Please continue to report individual suspected bots via the in-game system.

!

Thank you!
