If it was purely for HoT, I would have loled.

If you enjoy the game enough that it is worth $2350 then sure, I guess it is worth it. Chances are you will get more value out of your new computer as a whole if you do more than play GW2. Plus it depends on what you bought for that price. It could be a pile of junk you got ripped off on.

It depends on your budget and what having the best means to you, March 2012 I invested 2800 for mine. I haven’t upgraded anything since then and probably won’t need any upgrade for another 3 years. So yeah I love my hot rod even more since
it got plugged on a Samsung 65" Led tv 2 years ago. My Blu Ray collection loves it 2.

You only got one 1TB hard drive? I have two 2TB hard drives on mine, plus two 3TB external HD’s, and I spent a fraction of what you did.

Return it. Take a deep breath. And then shop again. This time do a little due diligence. There are much nicer systems out there for much less money.

lol kidding, that’s a pretty overkill machine for gw2. DDR4 ram and the monitor is the only thing I would have changed to save a few bucks. Not the best HDD, but you’ve got an SSD in there too so who cares. Just make sure you install GW2 on the SSD. And to be honest with you, like the other’s are saying, you could probably part pick this (without the overkill ram, ibuypower case/cooling) for like under $1400 (not to make you feel bad, you should just know what you’re getting into when you buy pre-built). There are plenty of tutorials online that can help you get started with your first build if it’s worth saving the money for you! It’s pretty straightforward, just a matter of putting things into their slots.

Yeah you should be good for most 1080p gaming. here is an fps count for BF4 that includes your gpu (970).
And that price is more of a quick estimate, because I don’t know exactly which parts they used for some of the components. But it’s basically a $400 cpu, $350 gpu, $200 mobo, 240gb in SSD averages under $100 right now, 1tb hdd (32mb cache) averages around $60. Add in a generic used $10 optical drive from your local computer shack, 16gb DDR4 ram ($300, could have easily spent $75 on ddr3 and noticed no performance difference in gaming), add generic $40 case, bronze certified 700w psu ($60), cooling ($40-$100), $200 monitor. It’s hard to crunch numbers that will add up to $2350, unless all that extra stuff you don’t really need (multiple optical drives, liquid cooling, sound card, network card) add up to some ungodly amount of money, which they shouldn’t. The hardest thing for me about this build is the ram, people have tested ddr4 against ddr3 in gaming and found 0 difference in performance. It just doesn’t seem worth it to spend so much on it.

I’m not familiar with ibuypower but I’d check to see what brand of PSU they used before automatically replacing it. It looks like they use branded ones though. It should be on your invoice, the brand.

Hope 1080 on a 32" will be okay. For a monitor you’re (usually) sitting a bit closer than a TV so you might notice it’s a bit grainy. I have a 27" monitor with 2560×1440 resolution. It’s personal preference though.

As long as you got a good processor. That’s where it particularly matters with this game. More so than SLI GPUs imo.

On the power supply, if you’re not comfortable building the computer yourself, don’t try to change out a PSU on your own. Good cable management is really most of what you’re paying for when buying a pre-built machine. They wouldn’t ship a build with a PSU that couldn’t run it, and until you plan on upgrading to a part with higher power draw, there’s really no need for a PSU replacement. Better to keep those cables nice and organized, rather than taking a shot a replacing the PSU and causing a spaghetti mess that kittens your airflow.

Maybe you should buy two copies and two monitors and run them both at once, cause that rig should have no trouble with it.

You might even be able to run ACU at halfway decent frame rate

had it nearly 2 years now runs 64fps in WvW but i keep the limiter on so i don’t risk overheating , i like my graphics all on ultra at ultra Distance view too.

still not too bad , the next computer i get , i’ll be building myself now i’ve done some tinkering on this one.

he did pretty good , the only other way he could of saved cash was to buy each part on sale month to month and get a card like i did on a black friday sale.

Some of the parts he has in the system are not on that website and I’m too lazy to go digging for them all so I just upgraded a few parts to reflect what SHOULD be in that system for the cost he did pay for it, but you can see that the over all PC is worth about 1800~ after rebates and such. He could have shaved even more on the build by going with different brands for the Monitor and the Internal Cooler too. I would estimate this build (done properly) at 1450-1550 if he were to build it himself, add in 250 for labor for someone else to do it and then your at 1800~ before taxes.

The 1TB SSD cost around $420 at the time, last year. The advantage of building a system yourself is you can pick up the components from different sellers when they have sales on.

I think you’ll be fine with the 32", depends on how you set it up and personal preference. Other people use 32" and 1080 and are happy with it. Just try it and see.

You’ll probably be upgrading to a new PC in 6-10 years time anyway so this’ll be a good experience to see what you’d like for next time.

There are many resources online to help you learn what parts you need, why you need them, and how to put them together.
It’s like a day of researching, half a day of checking to make sure your decisions aren’t garbage and 45 minutes of learning how to put the square peg in the square hole.

Or the quick option is to start from the i7-4790k base system.

I like this suggestion the best. The 4790K is going to have nearly the same performance as the 5820K since it uses the same Cores. And costs way less

I’m entirely unfamiliar with current PC hardware, used to build my own computers until the multicore CPUs came along. Or the video cards which looked monstrous.

I’m wincing because I’m saving for a car first and knowing somehow I’m probably not going to be able to do that and afford upgrading for the expansion.
