Bought wrong item
redo the dungeon a few times?
All armors are lsited in a row, grouped by armor stats (soldiers, etc) then by armor type (heavy , medium , light)
If you bought stats which are non craftable, I’d suggest you salbvage them with a expensive kit /BLSK in the hope you get the insignia’s which tend tro fetch 1-1.5 gold.
Else you could salvage them for ecto’s or forge them (<- last one is possible and not wise)
Also I’d suggest if you salvaged your previous armor before you just use it for now. (even rabid will have armor value) and jsut learn form your experience, I think everytbody in gw2 bought a wrong item before, (me I bought a lvl 70 exotic set in wvw before, wich was in the time there were no boxes yet giving you 250 wvw bages each… I must admit I cursed a few times, and while wanting to salvage them I noticed you cannot, which allowed for another few curses… Luckily you CAN salvage dungeon armor.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

I’m aware, I just wasnt paying attention :/
This makes me sad, although I have BLSK, this will still bleed
EDIT: only got junk :c

While I feel your pain there is nothing I can do about it. next time double check….

Sorry mate. Look at the bright side.
I once bought the wrong precursor.

At a loss, just on the listing fee alone. I’d rather run a dungeon a few more times.

I wasn’t making fun of you, I was trying to console you. Sorry I even posted. The listing fee on some precursors is well over 100 gold.

Im sorry, comments like those have an adverse effect to me.
“My problem is 10 times worse so yours doesn’t even compete” Is how I interpreted it.
Few months ago I have burned nearly 800.000 karma for lvl80 exotic armor for alts just to realise it was soulbound – bind on pickup and stick to the character which wasn’t able to wear it nor sell it nor salvage it. Only option was to destroy it and spend agony by typing 18 times it’s exact name just to free up space in the bag. It was very bitter experience.
I was new to the GW2 and was accustomised to the World of Warcraft where vendor simply won’t sell you stuff you can’t wear (if it’s bind on pickup) AND there’s also 2 hours grace period you can return purchased items to the vendor to fully recuperate your currency.
GW2 is strict, if you overlook something, you can return to square one and start farming again. It’s barbaric, but it’s their rule. And I strongly recommend to tripple check before you do something.
In my case I was lucky, I have made ticked and very politely asked GM if there is a chance they can fix my problem. They replied they usually don’t do such services, but they can do one exception. They helped me via ingame mail to distribute armor to the alts.
So you can try to contact GM and see if they are able to help you. They are friendly, but help isn’t granted and you can’t demand such services. So it’s 50/50.

It’s a look on the bright side argument, not one trying to compare. Yes, I agree, getting the wrong stuff sucks.

Welp, too bad I already salvaged everything :|
Maybe I should buy some karma armor too, then.
you can earn 180 tokens for a full run (120 for TA, 240 for Arah) making your loss about 6 full runs, or 18-19 dungeon paths.
And for Karma Armor the same rule applies as for WvW Armor: YOU CANNOT SALVAGE IT! (So runes are not retrievable!)

Thats an easier way of looking at it

Was short before doing that also yesterday when my thieve finally got 80 because
a while ago a bought 5-6 backpieces at a temple after i saw that they are only
accountbound .. and i wondered if everything there is now accountbound.
However i first inspected them and saw that they are still character bound.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I am sure “soulbound items” are remnants from the elder times of GW2. Now that game opperates with account bound currency, soulbinding items by simple purchase is unnecessary trap, nothing else. Especially if there’s no else gating than relogging to the correct character.
Back on topic, I think 120 minutes grace period would reduce 99% of the soubound issues and GM tickets related to it. It’s enough time to realise you can’t wear the items and autocorrect your mistake. Everyone runs on autopilot sometimes, we’re only humans after all and we make mistakes. Nobody is perfect.
