Q:

Why was the spot you could break out of the map patched?

It does not hinder anybody, nor does create gold.

It was one of the few things where I can make total strangers happy with by porting them up, giving them one of the nicest views of the city.

I really don’t get why you would want to take that away.

Simply put: it was a bug. Bugs get patched out.

Get over it. It’s not like you ever thought you were supposed to be getting there.

Yes ok, bugs need fixing. But you have to get trough great lengths to even be able to break out. So I don’t know why you would not just leave it there.

Guess I am one of the few who cared. Thanks for reading though.

Yeah, they added an invisible wall to the circus tent. However, there are still a few ways to get under the map if you look around. They are also somewhat easier than continuously jumping on a hole.

Somewhat off topic, but similar, I’ve always wondered why they prefer to play whack-a-mole with Arah skips using invisible walls, rather than just making the bosses unskippable, ie. required for rewards.

I guess it’s just easier to put up a wall.

On topic, I’m surprised that they prioritized that over actual bugs. Well, maybe not surprised. Aggravated? Annoyed?

Simple, as you said, it’s much easier. Why was that fixed and not other bugs?… adding an invisible wall is much easier and faster than tracking what specific variable might be triggering another bug, and making sure changing it doesn’t affect other systems or create more bugs, or finding a way to make condition damage stack higher without killing the server. If I had to guess, probably was on their big “to-do” list and a map artist that had an hour or two before heading home saw it as something he could do quickly before calling it a day.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
