Bubbles' name is Mordramoth!
Hi all,
So apparently subject alpha in CoE explorable has a bunch of abilities that he can cast named after the elder dragons, such as “Teeth of Primordius,” “Tooth of Jormag,” and…………….“Teeth of Mordramoth.”
If that isn’t proof, then I don’t know what is We can stop calling him bubbles now lol.
I see your argument, and I dismiss it. Bubbles is way too cool a name. Don’t take it away from us!

Seconded.
Mordramoth is pretty cool
this is actually more relevant to being the 6th Elder Dragons name as the Attack in question is an Earth one, not a water one.

Well hell…….seems weird that they would release the 6th dragon’s name before bubbles’ name, simply because they haven’t even officially confirmed that there’s a 6th dragon at all, it’s all speculation, whereas bubbles’ existence is confirmed.
Although, I can also see them keeping bubbles’ name away from us as long as possible, simply because we’ve made such a big deal out of it lol.
I think we’re very likely to find out Bubbles’s name on after the 15th. I hope so, anyway!
I don’t get why ppl are talking about a bubble? who/what is he? oO

i feel they want the Underwater Dragon to remain a mystery, much like here on Earth the Deep Sea is very mysterious and unknown, im gettin the feeling they will leave that Dragon out of the game to always have an Elder Dragon threat looming over us, and the 6th Elder Dragon is related to the Sylvari and right now the Sylvari really need a lore-bomb as it were as atm they are very Mary-sue which doesnt do them justice as a fictional race.
He will ALWAYS be Bubbles to me.
Resident Thief
He will ALWAYS be Bubbles to me.
Agreed. And Zhaitan will always be Stinky, Jormag will always be Frosty and Kralkatorik will always be Sparkles.
And what´s with Primordus?
Shiny? Sparkly.
´splody??
:)
Primordius should be “Boom Boom” lol
Bubbles will always be Bubbles in my book. And I honestly don’t think that Alpha’s attack is the name of Bubbles. I bet it’s a little teaser of the 6th dragon… or maybe even a different elder dragon… one we haven’t even heard anything about yet.

I agree, if i recall properly, the alpha’s Mordramoth attack is earth related i think. Could perhaps give insight as to why the Magumma jungle has turned to waste.

looks like Teletubbies or Pokemons names to me xD
I did make a lore post about this a while ago. We discussed it and concluded that he was either the 6th elder dragon (as the skill is rock based rather than water based. And the crucible has a zone dedicated to fauna such as plants or earth)
Or, he’s simply a champion of an elder dragon, most likely primordius.
The odds that he’s the deep sea dragon seem very low to me.
modramoth sounds like something godzilla would fight.
also, isn’t this best suited in the lore forum?
So we’re going to fight Mothra?
This game would win forever if Godzilla showed up on the 15th!
So Mordramoth might be the name of 6th dragon and the sylvari’s master.

Unlikely considering the pale tree being a dragon champion has as much supporting evidence as the pale tree being a creation of melandru.
So which dragon is this? I know it’s concept art, but it has to be a concept of something and it looks like this would be an earth dragon?

concept artists draw a crapload of stuff.
most of it doesn’t even make it to the game. one of the jobs of concept art is inspire the designers, make them go “ooooo i want this in the game”, or not.
so that is probably just a random picture of a dragon hugging a mountain. it could’ve been used as a representation of the scale they want to give certain elder dragons, or a scrapped elder dragon, or (given the colors and the scenery) it could be used for future content in elona.

I’m pretty sure that’s actually a mountain lol. Looks like a carving like Mt. Rushmore or something.
My guess is Mordramoth is the master of the plant dragon you fight in the dream as a sylvari. Plant/Earth dragon.

Sparky Sparky Boom Dragon
Theres one story mission I did where a sylvari mentioned that they are immune to the dragon’s undeath power but they didnt know why. My guess is the Elder dragons have equal power and cant corrupt each others minions.
The dragons make their minions by corrupting things around them, most use living creators like branded and risen, but not all, like destroyers.
Now who else corrupts things to bolster their ranks?
The Nightmare court!
Not only do they have sylvari and fern hounds, they also have several creatures under there control, like spiders, wurms, and panthers.
Even plant creations from simple bomb plants to walking plant husks to a big evil wishing tree.
sorry about getting off topic, I love theorycrafting.
My vote, Mordramoth is the Earth/Nature Dragon.
I also would not be surprised if an NPC in game calls the Deep Sea dragon “Bubbles” at some point. Just as a nod to the fans. You know.
Am I the only one thinking this whole nightmare court/Dragon thing sounds kind of familiar…….N’zoth and the emerald nightmare.
I also vote for earth dragon!
W..what if Sylvari are Humans corrupted by Mordramoth?—-
They don’t reproduce, they are humanoid plants, the first thing you see after creating a Sylvari is a giant plant dragon…
Would be awesome if deep sea dragon was indeed named bubble and looked very cute with big black eyes and wasn’t dangerous at all.

how can they be corrupted humans, if they weren’t human before?
they’re born sylvari. it’s not like humans are being taken to the pale tree and walking out sylvari.
in other words, no.
I could see possibly a Life Dragon like greenscale, but Primordus is already attuned to earth, adding a second earth dragon would be incredibly redundant.
I want Falkor to be a dragon in this game.

Did someone call me?
well since anet takes ED names from real world things like Kralkatorikk from mount krakatoa i suspected the prefix -moth comes from Behemoth and Behemoth doesn’t lived under the sea yes?
my best guess Mordramoth is supposed to be the nature ED while bubbles may get prefix
-athan/-than
Someone’s been calling me, I hear the name Sparky mentioned here :P
It could be the Nightmare Court are in fact corrupted Sylvari that the dragon has corrupted in some sneaky fashion that no one has really noticed, but of course it could simply be the Nightmare Court are just moody.

Well bugger me if that doesn’t remind me of Lion’s Arch…
There’s a world changing event on the 16th >.>

lion’s arch is in the desert? and has this huge, larger than life dragon-shaped mountain?
Mordre means “to Bite” in french. Mordra means “Bite”
Moth is related to butterflies.
Bite/Biting Moth?
I guess he will look like a Moth.
The most believable sylvari/dragon theory I have read is
That the pale dragon is an ED champion, being planted by and thus influenced by the ventari tablet caused the pale tree to change from its naturally corrupted nature, either willingly (like Glint) or subconsciously and become the good loving tree that it is now. The nightmare court realizes this and are trying go return the sylvari of the pale tree to their originally corrupted dragon serving state. This might explain why that one sylvari you meet in the personal story didnt know about the dream/nightmare, because as there are multiple claws of jormag, there are multiple pale trees.
I cant remember where I read all of this so I can’t provide a source. Probably on gw2guru tho.
CoE
I´d say Bubbles´ name is Utonium after her father
I like the name Bubbles on a dragon :P
His name is Selbbub.
