What things do you want for your class (or for a class you would like to play) that you think would just be fun?

Note, I said FUN, not necessarily viable or balanced or even really ‘buffs’ at all, for the purposes of this thread operate under the assumption that anything can and would be balanced in the numbers (if combat related) and fit in to the game system, ignoring whatever crazy mechanics or technical requirements it may have. Critique the concept and whether or not it would be enjoyable to play with and against. Don’t be afraid to throw crazy ideas out there, be kind to those who are willing to share no matter how crazy they get.

EDIT: I have my own o’course, but I don’t want to place them in the OP lest I overtly lead the direction of future suggestions, I’ll post mine later on in the thread.

Real spell effects. Swinging my scepter like a sword and nothing happening is annoying.

Lol, I would assume by that comment that you are a necro. My second 80 is but I went with a Staff and D/F, and I’ve recently started a retaliation Axe build. Never been able to get myself to use the scepter, even though it’s my favorite on my main, an elementalist.

It can’t have a projectile though (because it’s a non-projectile attack) but something similar to the axe’s animation would be cool, maybe a disease cloud effect each time it hits?

Yea I should of clarified, my Guard scepter effects are fine for the most part, I’m referring to my necro alt.

Thief traps being useful and doing power/crit based damage. :o
Venoms removed or changed to F2-4 and twieked. Venom utility line replaced with something else. Maybe with Thief Kits like Sniper Rifle Kit and a Kit fulla throwing items (because I like throwing things…); molitov kittentails, stolen tvs, kidnapped princesses, etc ;x

…and dual claw weapons. :o

…and adding legendary crossbow-shortbow.

Ability to steal people’s shirt and pants.

Ability to reverse pickpocket silly costumes onto people.

| Fort Aspenwood (NA): Sylvari Daredevil Thief Main: All Classes 80. |
Please Remove/Fix Thief Trait: “Last Refuge.”
“Hard to Catch” is a Horrible and Useless Trait. Fixed 6/23/15. Praise Dwayna.

I’m actually really liking that last idea of Doggie, expanding ‘stealing’ in to ‘planting’, maybe it would replace one of your enemies utilities with a random (not-so-useful) ability.

My few things

  • I’d love a trait that allows axe warriors to have a lot of uptime on quickness, the axes abilities are okay but really lack anything to push them in to the cool berserker vibe they are going for. Rather than a straight buff in DPS, a masterwork trait to consistently proc quickness would be a lot more fun.
  • I’d like to see a true minion weapon for the necromancer- a weapon that where even its basic attack summons a minion (albeit a short-lived minion).
  • Glyph of Elemites – a glyph which summons four small elemites, miniscule elementals. My elementalist wants an army…
  • Also, someone mentioned a ‘tesla coil’ kit a while ago on the engi forums, one of the few kit ideas which I have thought sounds awesome. Especially if it has a super-low recharge toolkit skill, which would then synergize well with the static discharge trait.
  • Change chill, right now chill and cripple overlap and it’s boring. Chill also greatly affects certain classes more than others. Keep immobilize as is, change chill to ‘Skill cooldown increased by 66%; resource gain is decreased by 33%; stacks duration.’ Resources affected would include Initiative, Adrenaline, and Death Shroud.

Now that would be cool, more realistic combat movement would be a big plus for me as well.

For all: Infinite Dog Tonic added to the laurel vendors. Works the same as the cat one, including the ability to jump.

Rangers: New, perhaps impractical pets. Think “Inquest Land Shark”.

Engineer: Pie turret.

Elementalist: Conjure Fireworks Wand.

Guardian:
one in five chance that the Tome of Wrath/Courage becomes a coloring book.
Also Spirit Hammer looks like a squeaky toy hammer, complete with sound effect.

Warrior:
When full adrenaline reached, voice sings out brief “Trololollolo” sound bite.

Mesmer:
Clones have the chance to show up in 70’s disco suits

Elementalist:
Snowballs become a viable weapon with slight knockdown on enemy.

Engineer:
Rifle skill 4 can be a “Randomly fire at things” skill, complete with mad cackling.

Rangers: New, perhaps impractical pets. Think “Inquest Land Shark”.
