Build Slots and multi equipment/weapon sets
I think this suggestion overall is going to be the next big push on the forums. Gear-swapping is a huge QoL improvement and would make our lives a lot less hectic; especially when there are multiple sets of gear.
It would also encourage different builds to be played because it wouldn’t be such a hassle to swap between specs/gear.
It has been proposed a lot and I’m personally a bit against it, specially if it is copy-pasted from the gw1 system.
The issue I always had with the GW1 system is that people take a premade build from some kind of website, put it on and have no clue at all what it does, why it works and how it works.
I believe the best builds are those you made yourself. It is perfectly ok to get inspiration from others, but fine-tweaking it to your personal preferences helps to make it fit perfectly for your style. The minimum is that people should understand their build.
so while im all up for a way of saving builds. It should be for personal use only and not the old txt-file you could share
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Regardless of how people get their builds, not having a way to save them will never stop people from copying builds from a website and not knowing how to use them. I have posted about this previously and am very much in favor of a build / gear saving feature like many other games allow today.
I have been wishing for such a feature for a while now! It would be great to have a saveable gear/trait template option to swap between for different game situations.
I jump between different PvX things quite frequently, and I hate
1. Making my party wait while I rummage in my bank for the right gear and fix my traits
2. Forgetting some situation-specific item because I’m trying to throw all the right armorweaponstrinkets-let’stakethisoffhandjustincase on my character ASAP
Like MiniEquine said, it would be a major QoL upgrade!
I honestly don’t even mind the idea of being able to rip a premade template off the internet, to give someone else’s setup a spin. Having my own templates saved will mean I don’t have to worry about forgetting what I had in my build, and reverting incorrectly.
Would love something like this too, and would also allow Anet to sell extra slots in the gem store for some more money if they wish (as long as we get a 4-5 slots base it should be fine, to sell extra ones for gems)
