Now here are my idea guys, and it might be a silly one, and that’s why I want to hear yours as well.
So the thing that would be hard about build templates is gear, runes, sigils, weapons etc. Now on my way home from school today, I watched this video about build templates in pvp, but I think that a lot of us really want templates for pve and wvw, so this is what I thought of.
I know a lot of you already know what the idea of build templates is, and it is about swapping gear and traits on the fly without having to manually do it right?
Let’s say we would have some sort of bank, let’s call it an armory. This armory should be for gear and gear only. In this armory we should be able to store weapons and armors for our individual characters, again sort of like a bank but souldbound. When we want to swap we simply pick the build we want to use along with the gear we will be using for the specific build, this will then be transferred to our character, and the old gear will be placed back in the armory for when we want to swap builds again. The default armory would have about 20 slots, enough to hold the gear you have on and at least 1 more full set, and if we would want to expand on this we would be able to buy armory expansions from the gemstore, sort of like when you buy a bag slot.
I know a lot of you are thinking that if this was the case we would have to buy new armor, runes, sigils and weapons for our each of our characters to use, but is this really a problem? I know it is expensive and all but most of us already have at least 2 sets of gear for our mains already, so i don’t see why this would be a problem. Also it is important to note that this of course doesn’t have to be ascended gear.
Now I personally think that the hard part of having build templates in pve and wvw is the gear, and i think this sorts that out, and also in a way so that arenanet can make a profit on it.
Another good thing about this is, doesn’t arenanet already have a lot of the tech down for doing this? I mean, we are able to store mats in the material storage on the fly so why not gear? The harder part would be having the right gear transferred to us while being out where the crows turn, but I’m sure anet can find a way.
Again guys, this idea is most likely very silly, and I also know that getting this to work in the game is a lot harder than it seems, which is also why I want you guys to tell me your ideas. Pls don’t shoot me down right away, remember that this was just something I thought of on my way home from school. Pls discuss, i want to hear your guys ideas.
