So when guild halls were mentioned, as well as scribe, I got a little excited. That excitement died a bit when the idea of solo guilds were clearly not meant to be, since you need a group to claim a hall, and from there a guild to fund said hall’s expansion/decorations.

Sooooooo, why not make use of the silly stupid home instances? Have some dumbed down version of the scribe to set up something nice to look at. Most sticks in the mud would just tell you “oh, go play another game with housing”, and I have, but it’s an untapped resource that Anet could cash in on, not unlike other games selling decor items in their respective real money/ingame auction houses.

I’m sure the call is there, and the creativity level sure is, if you’ve seen some of these characters running around looking like spitting images of something else that we’ve all seen, so, what exactly was the use of the home instance (I mean, you guys did try to cash in on the home instance portal in the GS) if only to gather from nodes and forget about it until the next day lol.

Agreed. Sometimes it’s fun to help your guildies decorate the guild hall, and sometimes you just want a place of your own, where you can decorate things your way, where you can put your trophies to show what you personally have accomplished. Sure, you could grab a corner of the guild hall but using guild decorations for your own purpose just doesn’t feel right. I like the idea of a scribe craft for just decorating the home instance. The existing scribe system could be re-used and many of the same decorations could be available, but cheaper and limited to use in the home instance.
