Thank you ANet. Really. This has been a huge mess that was damaging the community. I think that the free Character slot is a good way to solve the majority of the complains.
However, what about people (like me) who already got Ultimate (or Deluxe) mainy for the extra value (including the extra Character slot).
Are we going to end up having 2 extra slots even if we only wanted one?
We are going to get only one slot, so the extra value of our version is reduced?
Are we getting a gem refund? A partial refund?
I’m not complaining here (I’m ok with 2 slots). Just want to know how ANet wants to settle things.
To me “people got the Deluxe (also) for the extra slot” is the same as “people got the base game recently (also) for the expansion”.
Maybe if it wasn’t for the extra slot, people would have got the regular edition. Also a refund is impossible, since many of the rewards are immediately delivered and used.

You will be getting two, as confirmed by Gaile in the main thread. If you really really just payed 25/50 more for one character slot worth 10… you might be able to contact support and downgrade to normal HoT.

I doubt it was yes to all three questions…
I know she said all the vet accounts (outlined terms of vet account) would get a free slot, I don’t recall seeing any thing to address people who purchased the deluxe or ultimate editions using the char slot as a weighing factor.
@minae, most people did not buy the upgraded version for JUST the character slot. However the character slot may have been a factor in their decision. When I buy things I weight the value of the WHOLE product vs the cost… In this case, expansion (wanted), char slot (wanted), extra toys (decent bonus wanted the slot any way figured why not). Now Expansion (wanted), Char slot (NOT Wanted), extra toys (same as before). Makes a pretty big difference in my purchase.

Well +2 slots is even more value. And that’s a great deal of money to invest on slots if that’s mostly what you wanted as opposed to just buying the normal + a slot
You would need to contact support if you want a reversal/downgrade
I read it as: since we have already received our character slot from Deluxe or Ultimate, we will receive one additional character slot later (whenever they add them in). If not, well, I’ve already spent my 4000 gems, so it wouldn’t really bother me- I still got what I paid for ($50 expansion + $50 in gems + extra freebies).
