Buy BL key with Dungeon Tokens
I can run all 3 paths of AC in less than 30 minutes.
Yeah, not a fan. Dungeon rewards are plenty as is. Plus dungeon rewards can be converted to keys via Gold:Gem conversion. And tokens can be converted to gold through a variety of methods including buying armor and salvaging for ecto/inscriptions buying weapons and forging/salvaging, converting tokens to jewels via the recipes etc.
No way they would ever implement something like that…if they did, please make it 5k karma for a key too so I can buy 1000 keys! Yep, never going to happen.
well dungeon token is essentially gold. There are ways to convert it to gold, and you can convert gold to gems and to keys…
The only difference is the conversion rate is probably not very good.
Honestly I feel that BLTC keys need to become less prevalent as an in-game reward. I think keyfarming has done serious damage to its ability to offer consistent rewards.
Consider the following:
Story missions nerfed. Keys now granted at 31, 50 and 80.
Keys will now always provide a scrap, with a modest (10-20%) chance for a full ticket.
3 random item slots.
1 random booster slot.

Do you realize the ridiculously small % of the player base that farms keys regularly? vs buying keys? Trust me, if key farming was truly an issue Anet would of done something about it a very long time ago.

if they changed it in a few days, they probably think it is doing some damage.

I’m hoping the reason they potentially change it is that they have finally come up with more fun ways to earn keys… and you realize that the change could be simply a bi-product of the change in personal story design, not because of key farming.

well there already are ways to earn keys. Do your personal story and map completion(and cash shop). It’s just much slower.

Who needs data – do you see dozens and dozens of people running around the same “path” in queensdale 24/7? are you always in a different instance every time you zone in and out of Queensdale because there are so many people farming creating dozens of instances? Like I said, if it was a problem they could of done something about it very easily long ago.

Signet of the Beastmaster was apparently a problem but they’re only fixing it with this coming balance patch.
Not being able to stomp in Death Shroud was apparently a problem but they’re only fixing it with this coming balance patch.
Saying that “well, why are they only fixing it now?” is nonsensical when they’re constantly making changes from the base game. You might think that because these anecdotes are gameplay components rather than the economy that the argument isn’t sound, but the economy gets just as much attention in the balancing department as any aspect of the content.
And yeah, I do fairly consistently see people with their funny keyfarming names farming keys. People do farm keys; enough so that everyone on these forums knows what it is.

Actually what prevents me from even opening the BL boxes at all is there’s nothing in there that interests me. Some boosts I never use, some WvW stuff I’ll never need, never any cosmetics really, no mini pets, no backpacks, just a buncha stuff.
If they had something useful in there for me I’d open them and buy keys but I’m always getting things I don’t want.
I would love however for those dry top boxes to replace the post level 30 boxes in open world and there to be a replacement global key that one needs to build resources to buy like the geodes or sand, that would be awesome, it would also be nice to be able to turn in other currencies for much needed crafting mats like Lodestones. Even Tier 7 mats could be turned in at this point.
Buy BL Keys with pristine tokens :P
Or buy anything really useful with pristines >_>
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
i think the changes are to keep gw2 in line with gw2 china =X
