Arenanet are based near Seattle, in Washington State on the West Coast of the USA. It’s still only 3:20pm on the 17th there.

No matter what time they released it the date would be inaccurate for some people, somewhere in the world. So they stick to using their own time zone for simplicity.

Wow, simply wow. I’ve read my fare share of “I quit” threads and I’ve even made one or two myself. For the most part, I can sympathize with what the person has to say because it is usually due to a decent issue that they have a gripe with.
