I think we need one more new emote, in last patches we have been given option to adopt some cats , this is awsome but i want to show them that i like them.
So i think a new emote for petting them or something like this.

I agree. I looked for one! It would be nice… but then what about the (much bigger) ranger pets and the (usually smaller and sometimes flying) mini pets? Do we settle for petting the air somewhere at knee height? And do we mark knee height differently for norns and asura?

Like Kumion outlines, could be tricky to get this to work (visually correct) under all possible circumstances. You could use this… select a cat (left-click on it), then type in the chat window: “/me pats @.”, and the game will do an emote along the lines of “<name> pats Cat.” (no actual character animation though, sorry).

Yes, emotes like /me pet kitten would be great. Also, /me strokes kitten, /me kisses kitten, /me ckokes on kitten cause it got in my mouth.

Most cats will resist the whole hugging phenomenon. It’s a mark of favor for some of them even to let you touch them. So an animated cat pet emote might look just as foolish as RL attempts to touch a cat that just sashays that micro-step enough away to avoid the reaching fingers

As to new emotes for loving cats, custom emotes will do the trick with a lot more flair than some random kneel or stoop with a hand wave will do. Just type /e (your text here). Eg, /e reaches his fingers toward the cat. After careful sniffing, the cat gives a quick cheek rub to his knuckles before allowing a neck scratch. A faint purr rewards him.

I’m up for more cat-related content. Cats rock. My guild’s name is Cat Cat Cat Cat Cat Cat [OHAI] - admittedly my daughter named it and she was 6 at the time, but it’s a family guild where the coolest name in the world wasn’t required, and it made her laugh.

I enjoy turning up in my home instance every day to not only farm nodes, but to greet all the cats (I think I got them all), and play snowball with those cats who have the snowball. It must be a magic snowball, by the way. It would explain how it doesn’t ever melt in The Grove. I don’t even mind cleaning the dead bird (real life is rather worse in that scenario, as experienced only last week in my house).

So, yes. Cat emotes, and if you would be so kind, lovely Anet, cat ears. <3

Eeeee yes please. In fact you should put this in the stickied gem store suggestions above — and include that it could be a whole line of shoulder pieces with different animated things hanging out on your shoulder. Yes, animated, like the sloth and tiger backs. In case of a kitten, maybe sitting up when you’re out of combat, and crouched on all fours hanging on with tail lashing when in combat stance.

What’s that, ANet animators? Nightmare to code? Armor isn’t designed to have that kind of effects? Think of the shoulder kittens.
