I’m just curious if its possible to had this kind of targetting for Guild Wars 2 if i were to just buy the Eye tracking for my pc or if anyone has tried one of these before. It seem more refined than a TackIR.
The presenter did say that UbiSoft had put the eye tracking interface into the game. So ANet would likely have to program that into GW2 to make it work.
It looks very cool, though. I have questions such as how it works if you have thick glasses, how an MMO could use it when you have to flick your gaze to a number of indicators as well as the chat window, and whether it can be guaranteed not to act as a video camera sending your face out to the world. I may be one of the few holdouts but I refuse to have a camera pointed at my face while I am at the computer because when at home I am not gussied up for public view and I can’t be absolutely certain the camera hasn’t somehow turned on.
The Tobii EyeX is not a camera. It is a retinal scanner and tracker. It tracks the orientation and pattern of your eyes to determine the spot you are looking at on the screen. It can’t be used as a traditional webcam.
It also has no current GW2 compatability.
