I applaud the attempt at improving the in game camera views, but please wow this is silly my character jumps around like a yoyo on a rubber string. I tried a couple jumping puzzles as a test and how frustrating it is to fail at something I could do blindfolded because I cannot tell where my toon is. The camera snaps all over the place even out in a relatively clear area. I could not complete a jumping puzzle once. Not well done at all. Please get it right.

Lower the collision detection slider.

Some must fight so that all may be free.

Thanks you for the reply but that is not the problem. I have already tried every setting I can. I think an option to turn off this new camera fail mode and go back to something that works should be available. Honestly being in the middle of a puzzle and not being able to see my toon at all no matter what I do after “this fantastic update” No matter what I adjust is just plain stupid. This is a game killer for me . Thanks but no thanks.

I’ve only tried a few but find JPs MUCH easier in First Person.

I actually did Troll End multiple times with my Norn and Charr without falling. I have NEVER completed that JP with a Norn….ever.

I haven’t been able to replicate what you are seeing at all, but if you are having problems, hit the default settings button and it will be at pre-patch settings.

So turn it off. There is a default camera option that returns you to your old settings. The new camera is not for everyone. I myself love jumping puzzles and after some trial and error was able to easily complete them in first person view. If all it took was one option to adjust the camera to get you to quit, then maybe you weren’t all that invested.

personally, I saw no difference in camera operation pre-patch and post-patch (before changing options), and have never experienced anything close to what you describe. It’s only if you go into the options and fiddle do things change. I recommend you reset yours to default. I didn’t change much, but in case you’re curious, these are my camera settings:
rotation speed: middle
horizontal position: middle
vertical position: far left
collision sensitivity: almost far left (like 20%)
zoom sensitivity: far right
field of view: far right
checkboxes that are checked (all others unchecked):
Use Free Camera
Enable First-Person Camera
Adjust Camera to Character Height
I had camera shake enabled at first, but decided to turn it off for a smoother first-person experience.

You seem to be the only player having the problem you are having and it sounds more like a rendering issue by the way you are describing it “not being able to see my toon at all no matter what I do after” sounds like your gpu is not rendering your toon. Might I suggest updating your graphics drivers. If that is not the problem, why don’t you take a couple of deep breaths and explain it clearly and concisely. If you are not able or willing to do that then revert your camera to default.

In all honesty though collecting feedback from people with poor descriptive skills is a nightmare and I applaud all the good people who have attempted to decipher your post.

i see no difference at all… therefore I still claim that they destroyed fps of thousands of players for minor changes to game.

If you use default settings there isn’t a diffrence. Make an effort to use the new setting options and you’ll see.

I see no difference at all as well except for the first person, verticle adjustment and fov. the collision detection seems to do absolutely nothing.

Collision detection applies to small items like trees and beams. It does not apply to solid rocks.

Despite what it says, it does not seem to affect my framerate. My framerate is being affected most by UI elements that include icons.
