Camera update in features patch?

I’ve recently started doing jumping puzzles. Camera angles on those as well as in other tight spaces (staircases spring to mind) are terrible – very difficult to see where you’re going when the camera is zooming in/out and giving you very little clear vision.

This issue has been discussed numerous times since release, but please tell me there’s some kind of fix or adjustment on the horizon? In the next content patch maybe?

I’m pretty surprised that a game billing jumping puzzles etc so highly ever thought the current camera system was a good idea.

No one knows and Anet hasn’t said. Out of curiousity, are you a charr or a norn. Because they find the camera angles harder than other races.

One trick (and this isn’t suggesting Anet shouldn’t fix anything but it might help for now) is to get an infinite doll tonic or any tonic that turns you into a humanoid, preferably an asura.

It makes jumping puzzles a whole lot easier.

haha – it’s Asura I was having trouble with! During the WvW jumping puzzle, I forget what it’s called…

Grrr…I am not happy when the forum decides it is your time to log in again when trying to post a reply.

One of the JP Devs once addressed the camera issue, and said the problem with the camera is caused by the engine limitations. As much as he would have liked to change the way the camera works in places like jumping puzzles, the engine currently won’t support it. I don’t think this issue will be addressed until major changes are made to the engine, unfortunately.

Oh, and I think it might be named Obsidian Sanctum.
