I did it last night with one of my celestial chest piece. Now, I just got a Ring of Red Death (berserker, just what I’d want) from PvP… but I just bought that ring yesterday and I can’t have 2 of the same at once. Is there a way for me to change it to the other berserker ring using the Mystic Forge or is it useless and I can only salvage it or use it on a different character?

No. Only armor and weapons can have their stats changed in the forge. And you can only salvage the ascended gear once HoT drops.

Edit: As a side note, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t ever be able to change one ring to a different ring of the same stats anyway.

You mean that you can’t have 2 ascended Berserker rings?

You can have two ascended berserker rings if you want to. You just can’t have two of the exact same ring on one character.

you cant wear 2 x Ring of Red Death . cause they are unique
e.g you can wear 1x Ring of Red Death and 1 x Crystalline Band

Yea I knew that I couldn’t use Ring of Red Death x2, that’s why I was asking if it was possible to change it (so I could change my 2nd one to Crystalline Band for example).

No, he means, at least right now, you cannot change the stats on rings at all.
He also means you probably can’t (if they add changing rings at all) change it like you said into the other zerker ring, as the recipe is designed to change stats, not names.

(which now that I think about it might be why we can’t so far, as there are at least two of most every stat set, when you go to convert what does it become? Always Red Ring of Death for zerker? randomly one of the two? a different recipe for each?!)

Basically right now your options are
A) Get one infused, you cannot wear two Red Ring of Death, but you can wear one Red Ring of Death at the same time as a Red Ring of Death (Infused)

B) Use it on a different toon

C) Save it and see what they add with HoT

D) trash it

As I said, no, there’s no way to change it yourself. Since you bought your Ring of Red Death so recently, you could try contacting support to see if they might let you switch out for a different one. But that’ll be up to them.

Oh, that’s nice if I can infuse one and use both for now then. Thanks for the answers. I don’t think they’d give my laurels back because I bought one yesterday and happened to get the same item with an RNG chest, that’s just how the game is :P
