Basically as the title says, and if so can they buy bank/bag slots?

I have a friend who is playing f2p and he doesn’t want to buy the hot upgrade, he wants to focus on classic content and season 2 if he is able to buy, before going into hot. He also wants to have 2 80s some what geared before going into hot.

Yes I know he can buy hot and not do any of the content, but hes weird that way and tbh im that way as well and i regret buying hot right away.

Alright next question, next question. Should my friend hold of from buying bank/bag slots or the bump and account bump upgrades or should he buy now?

Hes on f2p and level 48, so far his bank is mostly full of winterdays drinks ETC.

Hes may concern is, if he buys them now, that later date they well go on sale or rather he will find out he didn’t need them in the long run.

Again hes doesn’t want to buy hot yet.

Well there’s always the risk any time you buy something that it will go on sale next week. The bank slots don’t go on sale very often though.

Personally I think it’s worth it to get a few extra bank slots. Bag slots not so much. I think he’ll find having a few extra bank tabs handy in the long run. You can easily get by with the default amount of bag slots.

Don’t see why he isn’t ready to buy HoT, the money he will end up spending on bank/bag slots will probably end up being around the same amount as HoT.

Bag slots are per character.

If he’s an altaholic, HoT will be a cheaper means to get more bags for all of his alts, present and in the future. If he only really has three or so characters, waiting for bags to go on sale may be the way to go.

Bank slots, if his one slot is already full, he’d probably be happier buying another one.

That really just depends if he wants the extra goodies or not.

Right now I would hold off buying just for a teeny bit. At least last year we did have a sale in the beginning of January. Especially if thinking of buying something as costly as the bump.

Has your friend considered buying a character slot? That does mean up to 60 more spaces storage. Those can, of course, go on sale too. But so far they have been on sale at 640 gems, so the difference is not that huge.

it’s all up to the person in question. I personally have many, many characters will full bag slots and 20-slot bags because I’m a hoarder, but many of my friends have just the basic amount. Also if you get the 20-slot bags, that still equals 100 inventory slots.

Also with the bank slots, I think that the amount that you get with the account bump is worth it, but some of the things I already had so I didn’t go for it (because I didn’t need or want it).

Now I’m going to give a suggestion to your friend. I know he does not want to delve into HoT yet. But with F2P there is so many restrictions that he is missing out on certain things. Like collecting daily login rewards that can help his magic find/leveling/crafting materials, and laurels for if he decides to get ascended gear down the road. There is actually nothing in the game that could get him into HoT before he wants to, because you have to do a separate story to get into even the starting HoT zone.

You can get by without extra bag slots, but it’s a relief to have them.

Otherwise, he will, almost certainly, find himself constantly getting the inventory full thing, at inconvenient moments.

The main problem with them is that they are not account-wide.

So, if you switch mains, you have to buy them all again…

TBH, I think they’re more than a little overpriced for something you can’t even use on all characters.

I think you should really be able to close them, again, on one char and then open them on another.

Either that, or they should cost less.
