First, is it still true that it only costs 1 gold to create a guild? Also, can free accounts create guilds?

I read that free accounts have no access to guild banks (for obvious reasons), but surely they could access a guild bank owned by their account?

No they cant access their own guild banks.

I’m not sure if they can create guilds but I know they can’t access guild banks at all.

A lot of the restrictions, including this one, are aimed at stopping gold sellers using free accounts for botting. If they can’t get the gold off the account then it’s not worth their time to farm in and we don’t have to deal with armies of bots in the game.

If free accounts could access guild banks for their own guilds that would completely defeat the point – they’d just have to create the guild, create the bank and then add their customers and/or their other accounts as members and they could get on with selling their gold.

Actually they can, unless the feature was removed recently (within the last month).

I created my guild using a free account, a little more than a month ago. Had no access to the gbank though.

The official chart also says free accounts can’t post to the forums. Did you upgrade your account?
