The only one I care about is the Rit. Man, I loved my Rit. Not because it was OP, but because it just looked so cool. Those spirits straining in their chains! ZOMG!

I can’t see Anet not adding the GW1 classes as elite specs in the future.

What is more likely,
Thief with Assassin elite spec
or Revenant with Assassin … oh wait.

What is more likely,
A … Ele? with Ritualist elite spec
or a Revenant with an Ritualist Invokation

what is left? monk, paragon and dervish?

Guardian → Paragon elite spec ?

I’d kill to have Dervish back, but it’s just not going to happen. That profession has been butchered and divvied up into other classes (Revenant/Guardian/Warrior in terms of mechanics, Necro in terms of aesthetics.)

I don’t think Anet will ever release new professions. I just don’t know what combat/flavor role is left that a new profession would fill, and that new elite specs wouldn’t.

Before bringing back any classes i would like new weapons, that would bring way more variety to existing classes than adding new.

Or basically, before adding the Dervish we need a scythe.

Why? How would the game be better by adding classes called Rit and Paragon? Especially since (a) we have classes that have similar playstyles (Engineer for Rit and Revenant for Paragon) and (b) other classes with similar names don’t play the same as their GW1 counterparts (and yet are fun, useful).

As fun as GW1 is/was, GW2 is a different game.

I agree that we don’t need them as classes, but as a user mentioned above they would make great elite specializations.

Just my thoughts, but I could see our missing classes being turned into elite specs below:

Monk Elite Spec: Ele or Guardian
Ritualist Elite Spec: Necro or Rev
Assassin: Thief
Paragon: Warrior or Guardian
Dervish: Ranger or Warrior

As Elite Specs they could all hearken back to the original classes without having to recreate the wheel.

My gut tells me that we will not see elite specs for Rit, Assassin, Paragon, and Dervish until we get back to Cantha and Elona respectively.
