Just like the title says: If I get a bunch of account/soul-bound Collection items, am I able to sell them without messing up the Collection? I got a few from participating in Auric Basin events and meta, but they are currently just clogging up my inventory. Same with any items I receive/purchase for the Scrapper Fix’r’Upper achievement.

Almost always you can. If it says “only has value as part of a collection” and you view your collection and see you have credit for it, yes, you can. Anything unlocked in Collections is unlocked forever. (Case in point — I did the Machined Shield for the Chronomancer elite weapon before I ever made my first Revenant. On unlocking the Glint’s Bastion collection, Machined Shield was automatically unlocked for me).
There are some items collected on the path to a Legendary that you will need to use as ingredients or as tools to do further steps. For any item you’re not sure you can get rid of, check the wiki on it to see what it will be used for other than for the initial unlock.
Yup, once the items have been “submitted” (sorry, can’t think of better word right now…) to the collection, you can get rid of them.
Crap. I was working on Bifrost and I sold the fragments assuming that they were only good as trophy collection items like everything else I have ever gotten that is collection related. Now I find out that they are crafting materials and that they can only ever drop once and can’t be reacquired. So I think this means I can now never get Bifrost T_T
Try submitting a ticket to Support with full details of the items you got rid of and when you did so. They might be able to restore them for you.

I think there’s one of the two legendary folks who might also be able to retrieve the item for you. Really not sure, though.

No, it doesn’t mean you can never get Bifrost (even ignoring the fact that you can just straight up buy it on the TP).

No, it doesn’t mean you can never get Bifrost (even ignoring the fact that you can just straight up buy it on the TP).
- There is an NPC in Lion’s Arch that checks to see if you’re missing any critical components (same guy that sells related recipes, near the crafting stations — big legendary-ish icon thing on the map).
- Contact support — they will always do their best to help (“best” = always find a work-around, which might/might not be replacing what you think you lost).
Yes, the legendary bookseller in Lion’s Arch can sell you back missing components you got rid of. You have to pay a few thousand karma, though that’s probably not a big deal for most people.
The legendary guy won’t give you more Jotun star pieces. It’s a known thing.
