I want to use certain skin for certain pieces to design my own look but I’m I limited to the whole set or none?

Can I mix-match Armor Skins with Outfits? I just bought the assassins outfit.

Unfortunately, no, outfits are completely separate from all other armor in the game and cannot be mixed. Though know that you are not alone in wishing that they would veer from this single outfit design release and consider making non-outfit versions of the those that have been released so elements of them can be mixed with standard armor designs.
