I don’t have a free character slot to check…
Can character names in GW2 have apostrophes in them? Just curious (before considering a name change or for when buying a character slot for my Revenant now that I have HoT).

Thanks in advance.

No.

The last step is to choose a name for your character, which can include from 3 to 19 characters. Names must be composed entirely of letters and (optional) spaces; names always use title case (i.e. the first letter of each word is capitalized) and must begin with a letter.

For non-space characters, the English versions of the game allow the standard 26 letters of the alphabet along with accented letters such as à and è. All client versions on all servers also allow ÄÖÜ Umlauts in name while a German keyboard layout is used.

No. They can have spaces, and the individual letters can have accents if you know how to type those, but no symbols can be used on their own. The first letter after a space will be auto-capitalized.

Also you likely know this, but you have a maximum of 19 characters including spaces per name.

“Catapostrophes” is an example of a character name using “apostrophes”.
