Can daily reset PLEASE reset gathering nodes?

First, there aren’t any nodes that are required to reset in order to complete a daily. There are tons and tons of eligible nodes, with exceptions only for Winterberry (which are easily worked around) and unbound magic (due to its other limitations).
Secondly, at launch, nearly all nodes were refreshed at reset (the only exceptions being Ancient & Ori, which have an internal ‘cool down’ in addition to the reset mechanic). ANet removed this from the game (as I recall, it was early in 2013) without explanation. I speculated at the time that it was to prevent people doing what I was doing: park a toon at a node farm, login at 5 minutes to reset, collect loot, and login again after reset — that is, getting double rewards for the same effort.
Whatever those reasons were, I can’t imagine that ANet’s philosophy has changed.
tl;dr I would be very surprised if ANet considered this.
IMO All the gatherables (Nodes & unbound magic) should reset at reset. If I have to leave the zone and come back in at reset that’s fine, but please for the love of cats, let the unbound magic and harvesting nodes reset AT reset. It’s annoying and I like to use the same set of unbound magic to do the dailies each day and I can’t because sometimes due to my schedule I don’t do the zone dailies at the same time every day.

Yes, it’s just annoying when that happens. I can’t gather some stuff at all on day 2 if it so happens I played late on day 1 and find myself playing a lot earlier on day 2. It’s pretty unreasonable to expect people to “lock in” the times they play particular zones from day to day.

For things that already have a daily limit such as node farms and free floating unbound magic making them respawn at reset would make very little difference on how many can be obtained and the effort required. The “doubling” or 100% increase you describe only exist on the first/second day. After a year of doing it the benefit drops to 0.27% increase.
Daily crafting and home instance nodes already work the way OP describes.
I agree with the OP. All nodes except those with the normal 1/2 hour cool down should reset at daily reset. I would even go a step further and make it that all JP chests reset at daily reset as well.
I have the ability to play every day so I’m not affected by the internal cooldown as much as some people but I do agree that they should reset at daily reset.
Well oddly enough I just went to Ember Bay today to try and get some petrified wood (haven’t been there in over a month) and all I got were emp fragments.
So, anyone have any ideas why that was even happening?

Sometimes you also have to zone for the nodes to reset. Flax resets at the same time as the daily, but you need to leave and return for the flax to reappear.

Unfortunately that is not the case for for Unbound Magic or Fresh Winterberries.
