You expect people to pay real money for Karma/XP/Magic find boosters which last one hour, but you punish people if they use them for more than 30 minutes?

What.

Did the person running this show have a brain seizure between release and implementing DR?

Not another DR thread. Honestly, you could not post this in any of the dozen other threads out there?

OP has a good point. Whom in their right mind will buy those boosters at level 80?

@clem Nop. Because I don’t spend money on boosters, nor am I bothered by DR on a normal evening of playing. So I don’t understand

I’m a bit confused too why the DR system is suddenly so big deal? I have never even noticed it during my play sessions which varies between 2-8 hours.

Last night there were lots of complaining about it on Orr general channel. I was there running around looking for new orichalcum places for maybe 2 hours. During that time I gathered everything, killed lots of things, did every DE I happened to run by and one temple DE chain. Then I proceeded to kill a dragon and after that I went to farm trolls for blood for about one hour. I didn’t get any DR:s during that ~4 hour session.

@Ameepa

I’m not sure what level you are or what part of the game you’re up to, but it won’t be an issue for most people until they’ve hit level 80, completed world & story and are looking to achieve some ‘goals’ like karma armour and such.

@Kaizer

Basically a mechanic which prevents players from farming stuff. After about half an hour of farming mobs or DEs, drops, karma and XP are all reduced.

I really don’t understand ANet’s thinking for this. Yeah, they want to prevent farming, but why? There’s little else to do after you’ve done story and map completion, why stop people from farming if they want to?

A full set of karma armour is 252K. After completing personal story and the world, I had less than half the required karma, so if I want to get one of these sets, I have to farm DEs. For some reason however, ANet doesn’t want players doing this. After ~30 minutes of doing DEs I was getting 151 karma, down from ~350 (what ever the usual amount is).

Same goes for drops and XP, after that ~30 minutes, you start to get rubbish drops and reduced XP.

Makes no sense to me, it’s just another thing (on the already lengthy list) to frustrate you.

ANet be trollin’, mon.

I don’t think they put much thought into how DR would effect legit players.

Does anyone remember realm down in Diablo 2 to fight against bots but then all they had to do was stay in a game for more than 3 minutes at a time before creating a new one and you would never get a R/D but it affected legit players constantly and still does to this day (lol@Blizz never removing that horrible mechanic) I hope we don’t see history repeat itself.

@Clem

I’ve been lvl 80 for maybe three weeks now, can’t remember exactly. Fully exotic geared anyway, 2 Karma pieces, rest is self made and I haven’t even bought almost any materials to level my professions (lw & jewel) or the items. I’ve farmed everything myself. Story chain completed. I have about 100k karma right now after I spent that 84k to those two 2 karma pieces. Haven’t really farmed karma. I almost never do the same DE twice in a row. Just doing them when ever I happen to run by one, or some nice chain is starting like the Orr temples and dragons.

Never seen DR:s.
