I can’t seem to buy traits anymore, but I don’t see anything in the update notes. I’m assuming it was a bug? Or a terrible decision? This is a new account, but I really don’t want to go through on each of the characters I dont have to 80 and pve to unlock their levels.

I’m fine with a few, but you’re seriously going to force me to kill the grub in ebg (which is either constantly queued or dead and THEN have to deal with the fact that no commander in their right mind kills the grub with any consistency) just to unlock evasive arcana and illusionary persona? No thanks, I’m just never going to take this account out of pvp, then.

Really hoping this was a terrible mistake or that the traits will (quickly) have a much easier way to unlock them. I mean, seriously, what good is giving pvpers tomes to level with if you’re not going to give us ways to unlock those traits for wvw/pve once we’re level 80 that doesnt involve running through wvw essentially traitless.

I believe this is a known bug, lots of folks have been discussing it in Map. Check the bug forums. (It may be conflated with the issue that you cannot buy gear you cannot equip, thus impacting getting Order skins).

Nothing on the bug forums, but we don’t know that it’s a bug. Patch was pushed through to fix the armor thing, but not this, which concerns me.

All I’d like is some word about whether this is intentional or not, whether we can expect a fix, whether I should just stop playing on my alt account, etc etc

Appears to be fixed. Just successfully bought a whole bunch of traits for my NPE character in LA. Go ANET for hotfixes. Once again, you guys ROCK!
