i recently tamed my electric wyvern and ive gotten to the habit of naming all my drakes/wyverns after elder dragons, as it was a lightning/electricity/energy based wyvern i wanted to name him Kralkatorrik (dragon that made the brand) and for some reason i wasnt allowed to do it, is there any reason why? its within the character limit and i tried to find out if part of it was vulgar in some way but im only not allowed to use it when the full name is there (so its something wrong with the full name, not any single part)

can anyone at least let me know why, if ive missed some announcement or something?

It maybe that arena net have locked certain names that they dont want you to use, atleast I would think so

Then how did the OP get in the habit of naming pets after Elder Dragons? Did s/he misspell them before?

Probably there is a string of letters in the name that is a bad word in some language so the whole thing gets censored. But the censor doesn’t check everything that can trigger it so sometimes people get the name through. See certain account names in this forum that you can see posting but when you quote them you get Kitten.1234.

Or, my standard example, the reason I had to turn off the filter way back when: In RP I used the word “reputation.” And it got censored. Because if you take the re and the ation off you get a bad Spanish word. /eyeroll

Maybe they did make Kralky’s name unusable, but then why allow the others the OP must have habitually used?

i have a drake named Jormag and a fire wyvern named primordius, zhaitan and mordremoth are also useable, i also have a drake named bubbles though i dont think that is the DSD’s proper name

its only unaccepted if the full name is there, take away any or add any in and its fine, though if you add letters at the front or end of it, its not accepted

my charr’s name is draco dragonbane, he has a thing for dragons, he has 2 drakes as his underwaters (jormg and bubbles) and the 2 wyverns as his terrestrials (primordius and name not accepted)

It is more probable you will now have to change your other pet names (as you put this fact into ArenaNet’s attention) rather than being allowed to use the name Kralkatorrik.

I couldn’t name my jellyfish Kalamarko, which is Squidward in my country’s version of spongebob.

it just seems strange that they would only block one elder dragon and forget about the rest

what type of wyvern or drake would that name fit? (ice drake is jormag, fire wyvern is primordius etc

Lightning/Air, imo. Kuunavang was technically a saltspray dragon that used air magic

Try just naming him “Kralky” and see if that works. If it doesn’t, something is censored.

kralky would work, its only censored if the full name of kralkatorrik is there in one piece

aww then could you settle for “Kralkatorrlk”? i know it doesn’t look too great using an l for an i, but its probably as close as you’ll get, unless the names allow for á or í etc :P
