Guild Wars 2

Hello,
Whenever I (try to) speak in guild chat, i get the message “You are not in a guild.” I am most certainly in a guild when i try to speak in guild chat, and I am clearly representing said guild, yet I still get this issue EVERY time. I’ve probably managed to send about 6-7 messages total in guild chat in the few sad months that I’ve owned this game. I know many other people have had this issue happen, but the “fixes” suggested haven’t done anything for me. I’m really upset that GW2 killed GW1, which is far superior in every aspect, but even more upset that I can’t even do something simple like speak in guild chat. I spent $60 to come play with my GW1 buds, but can’t even talk to them freely in guild chat. Honestly, this game is bad enough; why allow the experience to be even worse like this?

I think this thread would serve better purpose in the tech support portion of the forum. To be honest I don’t think the problem is as widespread as you might be under the impression it is. If you have submitted a ticket and tech support was unable to help you then you should speak with them about potentially getting a refund though I wouldn’t hold my breath on that if I were you. As for the statement that GW1 is far superior you forgot to add in my opinion. If you literally find nothing redeeming about the game then just move on.

Are you representing your guild? A lot of people don’t know about the “represent” button when they start playing.

In seriousness click G and the make sure you have clicked represent. If there is sort of a line through your the block next to your name on the guild panel you are not representing.
