I am asking, because when I first heard about expansion coming I thought that would be the most logical or safe assumption that ‘s the time we’ll get new weapons. Unfortunately, we now know this is not the case. So, do you think we will ever get new weapons? I would really like to see spear, two handed axe, twinblade, halberd, scythe…
Combat is the most important part of the game for many people, so I’m pretty sure everyone wouldn’t mind some new weapons. If the expansion indeed brings us nice challenging and fun content, then all we need is some new and fresh combat stuff like weapons and skills. For the skills, we’ll get them with specializations that they will be adding more and more in the future. But what about weapons?

Maybe when they run out of existing weapons to add as Elite Specialization weapons (assuming they add that many Elite specs).
