Can we get Quartz crystal nodes in new map?
last year, they got added to the wintersday gifts loot table, so prices might drop soonish

Quartz crystals, lore wise, are tied to the Zephyrites. They were the sole source and their ship crashed in Dry Top so now quartz is only found in Dry Top, other than what was sold to player’s for their home instance when they were at the Labyrinthine Cliffs. That’s why they are in little pots rather than outcroppings like other ore.

I think that lore is an insufficient justification for mechanics that lead to frustrated gamers. There’s no particular reason why the developers can’t figure out a way for Quartz to pop up somewhere else (the easiest I can think of: Skritt stealing Quartz crystals from the Zephyrite crash site and dropping them near some bloodstone dust, which goes splode-ee-ode-nodey).
However, there are economic implications of adding new quartz supplies and that might be why ANet is content with the status quo.
Quartz crystals are used in very little recipes. They’re selling for only about 8-9 silver which can very quickly be earned when you’ve mined the crystals from all available sources.
I can only find 8 Recipes that use Quartz Crystals, and 12 that use Charged Quartz crystals. In the scheme of things (game recipes), that does not seem like very many.
I sell off a stack about twice a year. Maybe purchasing from the Trading Post would suffice.
Good luck.
You will note that there are certain things that can only be found in certain areas/maps.. The reason for this seems obvious to me… To get people to go to the different maps and not just have a “one stop shopping” in one area. What would be the point of having multiple maps/zones if they all had the same thing?

They’re used in several guild hall upgrades…Celestial armor and weapons… runes…maintenance oils… Nomads armor and weapons …Commanders armor and weapons…Sinister armor and weapons…Trailblazer armor and weapons…certain sigils…decorations…just off the top of my head and i’m sure there’s more
Would be nice if they did.
Here are all the recipes that require Quartz Crystal/Charged Quartz Crystals.

Without lore you don’t have world building. Sure, someday we may go to the crystal desert and find fields of quartz to satiate everybody’s desire, but it’s simply a mineral not found around these parts.
RIP City of Heroes
These are also available from the map bonus system.
You might think it is expensive to buy but on the other hand they aren’t really valuable enough to worth going after them either. It is a terrible price point.
Problem is that they’re used primarily for consumables and that the few spawns in relative proximity to each other really hurts both buyers and sellers.
You see tons of people mining Iron Ore nodes but almost nobody on Quartz, just because in roughly the same amount of time, one can get 30+ iron versus like six quartz.
It’s a silly material to use for such powerful consumable items which drive WvW. I’ve personally probably spent around a thousand gold now buying them just because my gathering cannot keep up with my consumption rate.

Also because the quartz nodes are account bound. Mine it on one character and you are done. That will drastically decrease the number of people you see around those nodes.
Whoever is selling Sheets of Charged Ambrite doesn’t seem to care about the price of quartz.

if we were only going off lore why do we have personal instances?

Lore-wise, it wouldn’t make sense to have thousands of commanders.
if we ever get zephyrite involvement in any future maps or perhaps if labrynthine cliffs comes back id expect we could see more nodes come into the game for quartz crystals and possibly to balance that off more uses for them
