I’m still waiting on purchasing the cultural T3 armor, because I heard rumors they might give them Ascended stats once Ascended armor is patched into the game.

They might just patch all current T3 with the stats, but my question is: what happens if I buy the armor set and transmute it ?

These are the kind of info I wish Anet would release soon, alongside Ascended weapon and stuff.

Oh wow well that supports the money making theory everyone’s had about the drops lately. Considering these items cost gold and are priced like the rarest gems in the universe.

That’s a very good question and it makes me a little worried as well. I’ve also transmuted my T3 armors and I hope they better be updated with the correct ascended stats. If that’s the case, I know there are a lot of other players who have transmuted their T3 armors and it’d be best for Anet to do it right the first time before releasing a patch than trying to fix it later.

I seriously doubt they are going to move the current cultural armor along stat-wise. That’s not how vertical progression works. Just as in an integer series 4 follows 3, cultural armor will undoubtedly acquire a T4. That’s how vertical progression works. The cost may be adjusted for the length of the gear grind, but how could T3 remain simply a placeholder for new stats in a vertically progressing game.

Willing to bet the upgrade to ascended will be based on the appearance section of the transmute.

Again, cultural armours are about skins, not stats, just like the Order/Priory/Vigil armours. Wouldn’t make any sense and would be a serious u-turn as 119g for a full set of Ascended is pretty shiny.

Actually, if a basic set of ascended armor will cost anywhere near 100+g, i will consider it seriously overpriced. Not that i think that Anet will keep their no-grind promises, since they’ve already broken them once and are in no hurry to fix current grindy prices of Fractals eq.

Those should have same cost then now V/P/O armor cost like 6g set, cultural one ~120.

That’s okay, there can be craftable, sellable versions to be bought from TP. As long as making them won’t be more than twice as hard/costly as exotics.
