Can we get some Dense Trees?
Then they need to scatter cloth boxes so we can get a lot of cloth to lower the prices in the TP…
The inequity between ore and lumber extends beyond the rich ore veins. There are ore veins underwater and in caves, both places sapplings are never found. And as Diba alludes to, things get way worse when you look at leather and especially cloth.
The lower supply of wood is counteracted by the lower demand (you don’t need it for ascended armorcrafting).
Speaking from a conceptual point of view, though, it would make sense if we were cutting down actual trees instead of saplings.
I would be more worried by the bottomed-out value of leathers.

As others have mentioned, it’s because wood is used less than metal. Wood is used for weapon crafting, but metal is used for all weapons, Armorsmithing and Jeweler.
I do agree that they need to adjust the discrepancy for Soft Wood requiring 4 logs instead of 3 though. They made that change a long while back when there was a super-abundance of Soft Wood. That changed when Ascended crafting was introduced.
I also agree that the amount of cloth scraps should get a bit of adjustment, perhaps by increasing the number of scraps obtained from salvage by 50%. Technically leather should get that same treatment too, but prices for leather are fairly reasonable thanks to its low demand.
I just keep hoping they’ll put in some change that will make leather worth more than vendor price. Every time a patch is coming, I buy a few more stacks of leather, hoping that it’ll one day have some value. My bank is getting sad.
I totally thought this post was going to be about adding in densely packed forests full of trees. I totally support that.
On topic-> As it is right now, Anet seems to be trying to get the over abundance of wood materials out of the market so i don’t think you will see any changes anytime soon that would add more to the market.
